This version of Walking in the air was recorded two years ago. IMO, Tarja sings the same song better in the new videos recorded during her 2011 Christmas tour. E.g., in the video recorded in her ex-home town church Kuusankoski 14.12.2011 I cannot hear the annoying articulation I hear in the present video, there she sings beautifully.

Tarja´s Christmas tour with Harus was successful with outsold venues.

Hmmm.... i'm not sure this song can support her vibrato range. This song is supposed to be still and stay on pitch. I think its an interesting adaptation but i'm not sure it works. This song is designed for a "silver" voice.

Me Gusta Mucho como compone Tarja, y sinceramente considero que ella es, de por si brillante en cuanto a desempenio vocal, y tecnica. @cttnjrry The best version of Walking in the air I have ever heard was by a Finnish opera singer Johanna Rusanen-Kartano. We attended her Xmas concert some years ago. Her powerful voice (without a microphone) filled the church and really lifted us to float in the air.

Johanna´s different version with a choir and orchestra is available on youtube. She doesn´t stretch vowels and change back vowels to front vowels as Tarja does here, Johanna´s voice and singing sound just beautiful.

Not only in sensibility and voice quality but also in technical aspects.

I am not a fan of this version of Tarja + Harus it's a bit too experimental for my taste. My favorite is the old one with NW and her usual one done in churches and such.

I haven't listened to Tarja for a long time and I really can't imagine her singing in Nightwish anymore. She has her own career now and I think she is even happier now than then in NW. It's a good performance, but her voice has changed so much! She still sounds good, but different. I no longer associate this voice with Nightwish (whom I still like as well). Perhaps it's better this way. It gives her solo career a proper identity. Looking forward to watching the entire show.
