so considering that your doing a drivetrain swap, you changed the wire harness, ecu, flywheel, shifter assembly and cables, added clutch pedal and master cyl and slave, (correct me if im wrong) and possibly a driveshaft? any thing else you can tell me or helpful tips? there is a 94 300zxtt auto by my house in ohio. there are not many tt z's around here. also, do the cams in the automatic mated motor have different duration considering automatics generally need more torque for better gas mileage?

In PA any car before '96 doesnt have to pass emissions.. but i guess is california every car needs to pass emissions

Where do you get parts for the 300zx? I just bought a 300zx N/A 2+2 non turbo and am in the process of restoring it, but need random nut and bolts and just pieces to the car in general. Anyone know a good place to order parts?e

egr delete because once it gets old it can create a strong fuel smell. not a huge problem, but annoying nonetheless

EGR delete is dumb, it's closed at WOT anyways so it doesn't effect power, only mileage. Actually if you have it you can pass emissions easier without precats.

that's why i don't understand all the shops and tuners in Cali, too many restrictions. No emissions tests or anything here in CO.

But, I do like this car, I admire the custom paint on the engine components, pretty color and clean looking. I'll be watching more videos from these guys as well as Ed Hubbs' videos.

i dont think a smog tech would know where to look in the crowded bay of the Z to know where anything is. the PRVR is behind the intercooler inside the fender. I dont think they take your car apart for that. the EGR is hugging the firewall under the intake mani. doubt they would know where look for that. and only the trained eye could see precats from the top of the car. so unless they put your car on a lift in cali than you can get away with running downpipes and no egr or prvr. my buddy does

actually those are just the precats "downpipes" a Z will still pass smog without those. its the cats towards the back of the car you HAVE to leave on

In cali the SMOG checks involve visual inspections. You HAVE to have all the cats/airpumps/etc.

So far the only thing I would do diff is more power every time a customer brings me a stock 300zx I can fall asleep.You can have a 450+ whp Z and be DD. Based on the level of workmanship I have seen.500whp max boost DD is well within their abilities.You have to be careful with Z shops because they are prone to overcharge (I own a Z shop)becuase they R complex cars built around the motor designed entirely on a computer.Glad these guys aren't local LOL.Although we do good work also they are bigger
