I tend to agree with much of what you are saying. I think Paul Washer does much good, and he is surely a much better Christian than I. However, I also see that much of his preaching is dangerous and can have adverse affects upon the Body of Christ.

It is a shame that Paul is considered radical, in the church of acts he would have been viewed as a babe, a soft believer. God is looking for people who don't just talk about Him, but people who talk to Him, people who serve Him because they obey Him. Jesus said a man must be born-again to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven (John 3:3-7). The Lord compared this spiritual birth to the physical birth. The apostel Paul said that there will be many false teachers among us. What does that mean? It means if one thing they teach is false, then they are false. how is he preaching too intense, no such thing. He is trying to make sure that people get to heaven, so if you want somebody to preach nice and not preach against sin then don't watch his sermons and just get fed nice preaching. My dad always tells my church, don't go to hell through the church, just go with the world. If you wanna live in sin w/o any change through Jesus Christ and never be convicted by the preaching of the Gospel then you are on your way to hell.
Mr. washer is preaching well. He is telling the truth. But we as Christians should not condem others to hell. It's not my place to say to someone they are going to hell regardless of their spiritual state. I am not their master or creator. i do not have the authority to tell them that. That is coercing and scaring a person into beleiving in Christ.
People need to Follow Jesus because He is Lord! and God. Not just to escape hell.
@changeishere2008 well i believe that Christ has to touch your heart in order for you to be saved. I can remember being young and growing up in the church but I did not have a desire for God. I was just in church. But God convicted me and placed that desire for Him in me. And He does that for everyone. We are that messed up that we cannot turn to God willingly. Without Him we would'nt choose Him. But yes I agree we should not follow Jesus to escape hell.
That's why I take my children to Church. They are young and will listen to me know. I am planting good seeds in them. So when the grow up they will love and serve Jesus.
As for me I am a living Miracle. Jesus saved me and has began to work in my life.

Hello again I'm sorry if I compared you to calvinist please forgive me. i too recently found out why Paul washer was teaching this strange apostasy. when I first heard him preach I said what a great preacher. then half way thru. He began to say crazy things. I was like this is not right I stayed up until 4 am to finally find out It was john Calvin teaching. I was so sad. I hope and pray paul washer will know the truth and be set free.

Its not about what people believe, its what Christ has revealed to me, that even those that are wayward in truth and faith, that I can even learn from them as well, even the bad is used for good in those that are in Christ. btw, your answer was not sound, it made our Father in heaven even more a hypocrite and a tryrant. We were enemies of God (Col 1:21), and the blood of Christ made all clean (Acts 10:9-15). Christ was given all things and He will give it all back without losing one.

I can only assume by your defence of PW that you too are a S Baptist. God puts It into my heart when something spoken is truth or not. PW has had a couple of lectures on the subject of hell and that was enough for me to know he is a false teacher as the apostel Paul warned us about. PW's sincerity is that, and nothing more.
@SwordofManticorE I never went to church to find God, I am not a southern baptist, I am a believer in Christ whom Christ gave His Spirit to while seeking Him alone in my room for a month cutting off all pleasure and worldly stimuli, fasting & asking not giving up in need of a self, a new self, that was not inclined to love sin as I once was. After Christ gave me the power from on high, I remained in moderate seclusion for a few years because HE had a lot to teach me about Himself & myself.

And you just contradicted Gen 1:31 when you call hell bad. Wasn't everthing created by God for His pleasure alone (Col 1:16) (Rev 4:11)? Commen sense along with scripture tells me that a responsible Father in heaven allowed sin on the earth for a reason. The LoF (Rev 20) is real, but it is not a bad place.

We too have a choice, ask the Father to fix what is broken seeking Him, reading the word not for the reasons MOST do, but read it to attain the state which we fell from, hence born again. @believeforeternity I have never heard worship like this before. I do at times recieve revelations, and I have studdied much christion history and what I have learned is that our history is not good. If I have learned one thing from scripture it is the absolute unconditional love that both our Father and His Son Yahushua has for us all. They have made it all right. Since my belief in the salvation of all, my love for all my neighbors has increased greatly. This journey increases with time.

Surely he loves God, as your description states. That is not really the miracle. The miracle is that God loves sinners as much as His own Son, Jesus, to send Him to die for their sins. Mr. Washer has only simply responded to that love with love that is unlike the typical human love because God's love is not typically human. Since it is a holy God that we're talking about, one can only have a relationship with that God by being holy. So this love does call for holiness, as you have stated.

I suppose my line of thought was to help with understanding why the "sinner's/salvation prayer" is questionable. As presented by modern evangelicals, the sinner's prayer saves you by your calling out to God when, in fact, that would be salvation by works (calling being the work). So pointing back to a time when you "called out to God" and not judging your own life by your fruits is no basis for examining/confirming your salvation.

for those who thinks that Paul Washer is too intense I would like to invite you to read the book of Isaiah and Jeremiah, two of God's great prophets. Isaiah was ridiculed by his own people when God told him to point out their wickedness. Jeremiah was so depressed that he cursed his own birthday!!!! Now those prophets didnt choose to be the bearer of bad news or rebuke, but they simply had to speak the truth from God. Truth may not always be the easiest thing to hear, but its the truth!

I tend to agree with much of what you are saying. I think Paul Washer does much good, and he is surely a much better Christian than I. However, I also see that much of his preaching is dangerous and can have adverse affects upon the Body of Christ.

Jesus said a man must be born-again to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven (John 3:3-7). The Lord compared this spiritual birth to the physical birth. When a child is born into this world, he or she grows as a result of that birth. The growing process is NOT necessary for the birth to take place. too intense?? lol you think Paul Washer is too intense?? Let me tell you about Christ! He says in Luke 14:33 You can't be my disciple unless you give me everything! He says in Matthew 7:21-23 there are those who will cry out Lord Lord and I will tell them plainly 'I never knew you!' and Christ in Revelation 3:15-16 will spit out ANYONE who is luke warm and does not repent of their sin before him!!' Your think Paul is intense.....THIS IS JESUS CHRIST LORD OF LORDS!!

how is he preaching too intense, no such thing. He is trying to make sure that people get to heaven, so if you want somebody to preach nice and not preach against sin then don't watch his sermons and just get fed nice preaching. My dad always tells my church, don't go to hell through the church, just go with the world. If you wanna live in sin w/o any change through Jesus Christ and never be convicted by the preaching of the Gospel then you are on your way to hell.

Mr. washer is preaching well. He is telling the truth. But we as Christians should not condem others to hell. It's not my place to say to someone they are going to hell regardless of their spiritual state. I am not their master or creator. i do not have the authority to tell them that. That is coercing and scaring a person into beleiving in Christ.
People need to Follow Jesus because He is Lord! and God. Not just to escape hell.

@changeishere2008 well i believe that Christ has to touch your heart in order for you to be saved. I can remember being young and growing up in the church but I did not have a desire for God. I was just in church. But God convicted me and placed that desire for Him in me. And He does that for everyone. We are that messed up that we cannot turn to God willingly. Without Him we would'nt choose Him. But yes I agree we should not follow Jesus to escape hell.

That's why I take my children to Church. They are young and will listen to me know. I am planting good seeds in them. So when the grow up they will love and serve Jesus.
As for me I am a living Miracle. Jesus saved me and has began to work in my life.

And I am a product of that, we as children and teenagers may stray at times being rebellious, but thank God that His word is true! Because I was raised right and I turned my life back over to God. @changeishere2008 I hate Calvinism, people need to understand that God wants to give the Spirit of Christ to them, simple as that. Until they read, ask & wait for that power to come upon them, they're not saved, Calvinism states that there is no power from God that the signs & wonders were only for the Apostles, they are one of my biggest adversaries & God's as well, stop comparing me to them please. The preaching I do is biblical, what you believe isn't biblical, lets discuss in a PM.

Hello again I'm sorry if I compared you to calvinist please forgive me. i too recently found out why Paul washer was teaching this strange apostasy. when I first heard him preach I said what a great preacher. then half way thru. He began to say crazy things. I was like this is not right I stayed up until 4 am to finally find out It was john Calvin teaching. I was so sad. I hope and pray paul washer will know the truth and be set free.

@changeishere2008 Whatever the reason, if Paul Washer caused you to stay up until morning seeking answers then he did something right, I say. Its not about what people believe, its what Christ has revealed to me, that even those that are wayward in truth and faith, that I can even learn from them as well, even the bad is used for good in those that are in Christ. But the truth is this, is a person really born from Spirit, making two into one (THEM + Christ) and being offered to God in Spirit?

@SwordofManticorE Yes, God will do the same for His, but if they repent, its not for you to judge God, its for you to understand the promises of God to you now on earth, to ask for the Living Water, the Holy Spirit, while refraining from life's pleasures, for a time while you read the Gospel, sincerely wanting one thing: To be given a new Spirit that is ONE with God, HOLY, pure & conscious of God in every level, that's seeking God, HE will do it if you are willing, the rest is up to Him.

btw, your answer was not sound, it made our Father in heaven even more a hypocrite and a tryrant. We were enemies of God (Col 1:21), and the blood of Christ made all clean (Acts 10:9-15). Christ was given all things and He will give it all back without losing one.

@believeforeternity One question at a time. What Paul W teaches goes against scripture and the true character of God and your quote of Matt 7 is in error as well. I can only assume by your defence of PW that you too are a S Baptist. God puts It into my heart when something spoken is truth or not. PW has had a couple of lectures on the subject of hell and that was enough for me to know he is a false teacher as the apostel Paul warned us about. PW's sincerity is that, and nothing more.

@SwordofManticorE I never went to church to find God, I am not a southern baptist, I am a believer in Christ whom Christ gave His Spirit to while seeking Him alone in my room for a month cutting off all pleasure and worldly stimuli, fasting & asking not giving up in need of a self, a new self, that was not inclined to love sin as I once was. After Christ gave me the power from on high, I remained in moderate seclusion for a few years because HE had a lot to teach me about Himself & myself.

Does He teach you that He knew a billions of years ago that He would allow tens of billions of His creation to burn forever in fire? @believeforeternity That was not an answer, but alone an empty excuse for God on your part. You may not go to a church, but your words have a religiouse sound to them. And you just contradicted Gen 1:31 when you call hell bad. Wasn't everthing created by God for His pleasure alone (Col 1:16) (Rev 4:11)? Commen sense along with scripture tells me that a responsible Father in heaven allowed sin on the earth for a reason. The LoF (Rev 20) is real, but it is not a bad place.

@SwordofManticorE God gave Adam & Eve free will as humans to choose, they fell from grace. Now you & me are born into this state. We too have a choice, ask the Father to fix what is broken seeking Him, reading the word not for the reasons MOST do, but read it to attain the state which we fell from, hence born again. God wants us to choose between Him & sin, you can't have both, most think they can, they are wrong, they can't, if one seeks holiness through the Gospel & communion with God....

@believeforeternity I have never heard worship like this before. I do at times recieve revelations, and I have studdied much christion history and what I have learned is that our history is not good. If I have learned one thing from scripture it is the absolute unconditional love that both our Father and His Son Yahushua has for us all. They have made it all right. Since my belief in the salvation of all, my love for all my neighbors has increased greatly. This journey increases with time.

Like I said, the journy to increase faith is longer for most than some. Paul taught us that when he is gone, that many false teachers will come. I mean alot. There is a verse in Thesolonians that has been inacuratly translated to eternal punishment, but the closet translation is eonian extermination (physical death).

@believeforeternity Christ was warning the lost sheep of Israel of the coming destruction of Jerusalem, the end of the OC as Judea knew it. These verses used by the church to support the hell doctrine have been twisted. Luke 16 and the parable is exactly what I am talking about. I will PM you how this was suppose to be spiritually understood. After this study, this test usually tells one if his love for all his neighbors is true.

@changeishere2008 Lastly, Christ is meant to be sought so hard, long & with such conviction that once a person does this, HE literally enters the person giving them His Spirit. Rev 3:20 - "If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.” Heaven itself is found within here on earth! Luke 17:21 "nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you." ITS time for YOU to believe God, His promise & to go after it.

I believe in Yeshua as my Lord and savior. But I don't go around looking and acting self rightious and religious. I am conservative in some ways and liberal in many ways. I am not up tight. I don't discuss my Jesus/ Yeshua with everyone. I don't think it's right telling ppl they will end up in hell. I don't the authority to tell them . Jesus decides everyone's fate. I know He has saved me and He know He has saved me. I am one of His sheep.

Any christian who truly reads and follows the bible will agree with 90% of what Paul says. Its a sad day when a christian chooses to listen to Joel Osteen or Benny Hinn over Piper, Washer or any other true christian preacher Christ didn't die on the cross so we can live our best life now.

Surely he loves God, as your description states. That is not really the miracle. The miracle is that God loves sinners as much as His own Son, Jesus, to send Him to die for their sins. Mr. Washer has only simply responded to that love with love that is unlike the typical human love because God's love is not typically human. Since it is a holy God that we're talking about, one can only have a relationship with that God by being holy. So this love does call for holiness, as you have stated.

ignorancecheck is right. in the comments. Why do people get disturb by PW's sermons ? hes just preaching the truth. Like he said, you dont even have to listen to him, just check with the Bible and . in the last days God will speak to their hearts'.If peopel dont want the hard Biblical soul -saving truths, they should listen to Jeol Osteen and others like him, and live in a false dreamland.

Hes not nearly as hard on you as GOD is going to be, there for to warn you of your sins and and your constantly willing to wrap yourself up in the cold blankets of earthly comfort it makes You FEEL uncomfortable. Brother that means hes not being HARD ENOUGH! praise the lord Do you not know this is WAR a never ending war till Jesus returns? When you light a cigarette its yet another battle in what? Ask yourself this,does paul washer preach the gospel= NO, cast out devils=NO, speak in tongues=NO, lay hands on the sick and the sick recover=NO!!. Didnt jesus say in Mark 16:17,18 that those are the signs that follow those who believe,ummmmm i guess paul washer is not a true believer,then he must be a FAKE!!! well jesus did warn us that in the last days there were going to be alot of fakes.

Paul makes great points. But after you examine the basis of this type of preaching you will realize it's Calvinism.
Calvinsim is a deadly doctrine. It teaches only the few elect will be in the kingdom of God. The rest of us are just tagging along. It's called T.U.L.I.P

Paul Washer says it like it is. Preachers cannot be too intense because it's not about us or how we feel but all about God's glory. Period. I love listening to Paul Washer and others like him. Try listening to David Wilkerson "anguish" sermon...amazing truth.

Washer has admitted he has been "too hard" at times. But you know, I much rather the too hard preacher, who forces me to progress and turn from sin, than the one who would keep me as I am and content with my place in my walk with Christ.

The Holy Spirit will convict you when you do wrong? Belive me you will know. All I have to do is confess my sin and ask God to forgive me and Thank Him for His grace. People sin weather they are saved or not. But God continues to forget our sin as we confess them and ask for his forgivness. Until Jesus comes this is how it goes we must repent daily. and walk in His light.

The truth hurts, this man is preaching the truth. If you are a Christian you should be 100% commited to the Lord you have to be a follower of Jesus Christ, The first Christians where given the name Christians which meant followers of Christ. We should follow Christ till the end we should deny him even at till death and seek him with all our hearts. The true gospel is not told at the major churches of the world because the true gospel requires sacrifice and commitment!

Paul Washer's preaching is from God, represents God and points to God. He is the REAL DEAL, straight up. A modern day version of John the Baptist. Paul Washer is the example of what a Christian ought to be, as a MINIMUM standard. I repeat, a MINIMUM.

I would say he's lost and doesn't have any idea what scripture says... I have watched a number of his videos and they teach religion not God. so basically he is a religion teacher not a god teacher. and any preacher who would trash another preacher to promote his following is not teaching from scripture.

@changeishere2008 - The problem is he DOESN’T make great points for living a holy life for God… he makes a point to push a religious concept that isn’t from scripture. He teaches to be poor and in slavery, scripture SAYS "The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender." Yet scripture says "You will eat what your hands have produced; you will be happy and prosperous"… poor people don’t produce anything, they are slaves to everything. He is wrong in his teachings.

I admire his passion.. he has seen alot of bad stuff for christians in other countries and then comes here and sees "christians" that are no different then the world.. Im sure it pisses him off.. but Im not sure I agree when he says that they aint saved.. I have my questions about the "salvation prayer" too.. but the Bible does say, that who ever calls upon the name of the Lord SHALL be saved!!!

A person spiritually dead in sin can do nothing but hate God unless God first transforms that person and calls him to Himself. In effect, anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord has already been saved.
Example:
Lazarus was dead, yes? Can a dead man hear? No. God brought Lazarus back from the dead so that he could respond to Jesus' call.
Bit of a paradigm shift isn't it?

Oh, sorry! Didn't mean to come off as argumentative.
I suppose my line of thought was to help with understanding why the "sinner's/salvation prayer" is questionable. As presented by modern evangelicals, the sinner's prayer saves you by your calling out to God when, in fact, that would be salvation by works (calling being the work). So pointing back to a time when you "called out to God" and not judging your own life by your fruits is no basis for examining/confirming your salvation.

i AM NOT A CALVINIST. I do not agree with Paul Washer on this doctrine. But the world has definitely invaded the church. I have walked out on the worldly repetitive stupid music they call "praise music" in churches. God help us. The church has become one with the world, thinking this will attract more people. What is wrong with the simple gospel. It does not need "doctored" up.

for those who thinks that Paul Washer is too intense I would like to invite you to read the book of Isaiah and Jeremiah, two of God's great prophets. Isaiah was ridiculed by his own people when God told him to point out their wickedness. Jeremiah was so depressed that he cursed his own birthday!!!! Now those prophets didnt choose to be the bearer of bad news or rebuke, but they simply had to speak the truth from God. Truth may not always be the easiest thing to hear, but its the truth!
