  • GPUs will become the computing new era. Bye Intel, Hello "Corporations_that_really_invest_in_new_technology"

  • Soo... many... ®

  • this guy knows jack....JACK!

  • I'm sorry that failed to impress me entirely.

You can spin huge pictures around quickly, zoom in and out a bit smoother in huge pictures, and move it around with momentum.

  • that was adobe photoshop cs5 extended edition take a look its have a logo in the upper left corner and it has 3d on its toolbar the only adobe product that have just like of design is adobe photoshop cs5 extended edition i am using cs5 extended edition soo see that was familyar with me then i know that was cs5 extended edition not cs4

  • "And boom" is this brainwasher working for mac?

  • LOL. GPU's can convert about 8000GFlops/s, and CPU about 160000GFlops/s.

Processor MAKES EVERYTHING- Menages GPU's too.

So GPU is 1/4 of PC

  • @wdowa94 It is better to keep silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.

  • @wdowa94

    This is bullshit

    Cpu:Peak GFlops/s=17 Actual=10Gflop

    Gpu:Peak TFlops/s=1 Actual=320Gflop

  • @wdowa94 That's absolute rubbish.

  • notofficialaccount , ur very naive, this is not for gaming, dis is for workstations. think harder, use ur eyes and brain to read d describtion befor ur comment. dis is not Crysdis or wad, dis is photoshop

  • I have been using PHOTOSHOP since 1994 (Version 3.0). This GPU acceleration is marketing NONSENSE!

Other than using interpolation/filtering for zooming in and out of a picture - GPU acceleration adds NO TANGIBLE BENEFITS yet. All this is hype and a marketing gimmick.

Adobe should have added filtering when rescaling images a long time ago. Instead now you need a particular video card and the latest version of the software to get that feature.

What garbage. I want better & faster software!

  • Err no actually when your GPU's aren't in use they can be recruited by your CPU, and used to do normal processing, not just graphics processing.

  • Individuality1990 - That is simply not true. You're talking about the GPU being used as a General Purpose Processor (GPPU) through CUDA or something. It is extremely difficult to program a specialized GPU to do regular x86 code that your main CPU does.

Just because your video card is not doing anything at the moment and you run a task, the data is not handed-over to the GPU. We are DECADES away from that ability, if ever.

  • fucking retarded bitch

  • super true

  • I agree... First Photoshop I ever used was Adobe Photoshop 4. That was the first Photoshop I fell in love with. The last photoshop I fell in love with was Photoshop 6. Photoshop 6 + Windows XP = best combination ever... I never had ONE TINY problem with it. Now I have Windows 7 x64 + Adobe Photoshop CS4 and I wanna cry. I hate Microsoft and I hate Adobe.

  • ikislav - Thanks the reply! Yes, I think you're onto it. Solid, stable software. I know someone who managed to get Windows NT and even Windows 3.1 to run on a modern computer and that old 16-BIT Win3.1 runs EXTREMELY FAST! He uses autocad software and what would normally take 45 seconds on a NEW computer with NEW software and NEW operating system... on that old 3.5GHz Machine with Win3.1 it takes a BLINK of an EYE. Google: 86 Mac Plus Vs 07 AMD Dualcore to see what I mean. Newer doesnt = better

  • Exactly... This is how I see it: Those corporate bastards of software industry are acting irresponsibly for two reasons: 1)Hardware keeps getting better and they think what the heck, were not gonna optimize our software and make it efficient, were just gonna pile up unrefined code and are gonna take the money. 2)They dony give a fuck about our planet. Less efficient software means more processor usage. More processor usage = more energy usage. And we know where that leads...

  • @ikislav A warm office?

  • @ikislav

adobe really fucked up CS4's interface should of just left it alone but they need a reason to sell training courses @_@

  • i like cs3 + win xp sp 3 + 3ds max 2009

  • @part2themovie CS4 + Win7 + Max 2010

  • for some reason, these features never worked with windows vista no matter what driver i tried on my thinkpad t60. but on windows 7, it just worked automatically. i'm not gonna lay a finger on those drivers for sure. :P

  • its fast sure, but some of the stuff he said was stupid. I can go with the speed, but the can be without the features that really dont improve anything.

  • anywant want to buy adobe cs4

or parallels desktop for cheap msg me ~

  • Hi i just got this new computer and it cost me $1017.58

My graphics card is a GeForce GT 220. My games play great with it but i cant enable it :( is it my graphics card or do i have to do something else?

  • boobs

  • Maybe that's just a software problem. because the fact of the matter is that nvidia creates better hardware than ATI.

  • Some games is causing this problem so maybe it is software problem really

  • Not really. The 8800 gpu, and 9800 and latest gt 200 line does not support WDDM 2.1 and DX 10.1 features, while ATIs latest does. One important feature is fine-grained task switching which means better multitasking. This means smoother workflow if you use the GPU for multiple things, like folding@home, photoshop GPU accelleration, windows vista / 7 aero acceleration and gaming in a window. NVIDIA hasn't been able to develop an compatible arcitechture until very lately.

  • Contined: That's why NVIDIA hasn't been able to create a DX 10.1 compatible GPU until very lately, the notebook video chip GTS 260M, GTS 250M, GT 240M, GT 230M and G210M. Search for DX 10.1, WDDM 2.1 and nvidia. NVIDIA engineers simply haven't been able to conform their architecture to DX 10.1 standards until now, but ATI has had compatible hardware very early!

  • Oh and adobe reader gpu acceleration :)

  • Nvidia creates better harware than ATI try a GTX 295

but if your doing it for better rendering rather than Super FPS then go with a QuadroFX 5800

  • ATI blows, it has given me many problems, and now im looking forward to my Windows 7 purchase with Nvidia graphics, no longer will i use ATI.

  • Why so many "poor comment" votes? Is it fanboys thatcan't take critisism and complaints? Fanboyism doesn't help the quality of a product, only the survival of a company.

  • Hmm, I've got a 8800GTX and it crawls in opengl mode. I can't even use a paintbrush without it lagging severely.

So what sort of GPU do I need before it becomes usable? Or do I need more CPU power as well?

  • how did you get that 400 megapixal picutre

you should release it for download as benchmark as comparisons

allow us to compare it on a cpu only, and then swith to gpu

  • Very nice. We can get work done a lot faster.

  • eww vista

  • Does it support ATI?

  • AAAHAHAHAH!

    Stupid CPU's!

    Go Nvidia!

  • CPU's have bigass caches, generally much lower latency memory access, out of order execution and far better handling of conditional code. They currently both have a purpose, but I welcome the day they're successfully unified. Don't be one of those "why do we even need a CPU they suck" dumbasses.

That aside why the hell isn't Photoshop entirely vector based by now? What a piece. No disrespect to nVidia here though, they're doing their job fine.

  • Heck no Buddy!

I can't wait for Intels Sandy Bridge.

I guess Saying "Stupid CPU's" wasn't the right thing,More like CPU's need more cores"

Cause CPU's are actually, what? 3 to 4 times faster then a Nvidia core?

    But,I love Nvidia,Always had Nvidia,Since my first PC,Always will.

To Decide between Nvidia and ATi,Just look at the cores,ATi needs 800 Cores to do what Nvidia's 240 can do.

  • it looks like ti is just rendering to texture on a polygon...

    nothing fancy...

but the integration is cool.... (/me wishes that nVidia and ATI would help out on GEGL and the Gimp to improve its features...)

  • What about UI scaling? I run at 1600x1200 120DPI and photoshop CS4 buttons and options are too small!

  • woow did he say 20,000 by 20,000 pixels??? 400 megapixels??!! heellll thats a lot of pixels...

  • amazing only with nvidia and physx its great for gaming

  • Make The GIMP use the GPU :)

  • I'd love it

  • Does it

  • well not gimp tiself, but rather GEGL... GEGL does now (AFAIK) not SMP or OpenCL/OpenGL accelerated, but is it comes (if only as a compile flag) it would be the fastest engine on earth...

  • see i live mac but i know your not going to like this AMD ATi i have the macbookpro with ATI and intel duo core and it works nice if you not doing it in HD

  • Awesome Video. Youtube can be a great asset for you. If you need any help getting your video exposed check out this site called sl8t.(com) It has really done wonders for me, I have built 3 channels up with videos at top in position, this is my forth channel I'm going to working on now.

Sorry for the parenthesis around the com, some reason Youtube will not let you give an actual address in a comment. Real weird. Have a Blessed day!

    Have A Good Day/Night!

  • i have nvid260 and Q6600 , CS4 most of this feats do not work...

  • I have a similar setup, works fine for me. Did you update your driver?

  • Any love for stream yet?

  • does it support cuda?

  • holy **** thats amazing..finally gpu enabled photoshop

  • That was awesome.

  • Nvidia FTW !!!

Wherew can i activate that futer ? :S

  • nvidia! woot!

  • Got it, love it, so much better than cs3. I'm running it on a quad core system with a geforce 8800gts 512 and my word, it is fast!

  • i am also. it spoils you. :D
