  • Rest in peace brave fishermen.

  • emocionante hasta el final !!

  • not to discredit horner but he likes to use the same type of song in a bunch of his movies, and honestly its not a bad thing. Its good

  • @Saniahkhan ughhh my bad i forgot about those two. they are fantastic

  • @Gmatute6969 Awesome choices! Stick Danny Elfman in there and you're sorted!

  • @Gmatute6969

I suppose that leaves the Black Eyed Peas for 'inducers of lobotomy urges'.

  • @Gmatute6969 Danny Elfman

  • Nothing to say, this sound is a real Musicole ....

  • @nomarcp5 the movie the perfect storm

  • @simbadkai2 You named just about everyone of my personal favs minus John Murphy, Thomas Newman, Randy Newman, Mark Isham, Clint Mansell, and Edward Shearmur. Everybody here has good taste!

  • James Horner and John Williams !!! the best !!

  • @hornvin,

    Yes they are!

  • Damn I'm shaking

  • This movie always makes me cry... my inner lifeguard always wakes up and I have a sudden need to reach out into the movie screen and help!

  • James Horner is amazing and his film scores make me go to the movies.

  • the only composer that actually give me goosbumps when i listen to his music xx

  • @jadedl04 Cant forget about John Williams!

  • For me The Perfect Storm is the best he has written Soundtrack James Horner is my favorite composer Hans Zimmer with Harry Gregsons Willians John Powell Trevor Rabin and James Newton Howard Greetings =)

  • Let's Go Boys (Instrumental)

from "the perfect storm james horner cd"

  • 6 People would have never made it to the Flemish Cap.

  • I love this film so much... i have ever since i was little and it still is. The music is awesome as well.. ^^

  • Uomini,

    voi che guardate il mare,

cimitero senza tombe e senza cipressi

    raccoglietevi e meditate.

    Maurizio Spagna

  • Very few composers can create images like an artist at his canvas; and at the same time pulling at your heart strings and adding a pathos and awe all in one. James Horner is such a composer. Fabulous. Like John Barry and Thomas Newman, a genius!

  • i love this movie!

  • mmm i miss a perfcet strom hhh i love the film shi's true story 1991

  • this is one of best movie i have ever seen on TV 3 days ago, since then i am trying to find out on youtube to watch again, but i cant. could anyone pls tell me where i can watch that film from?

  • @8820736 your best bet is to google "perfect storm letmewatchthis," click on the first result, and try some of the links on that page. you'll probably need to install DivX first tho; you can google that too.

  • I love the Perfect Storm....I read the book then saw the movie!!! Wonderful score!!!

  • Nobody talks about, but every year 24'000 men/women dispear out at sea. 1 minute silence.

  • You can almost see, feel, and taste the ocean because of this music. Music that can create that kind of nostalgia is good music indeed!!

  • @Nathan061987 yes! whenever I listen to James Horner I think of the ocean. I can see it and feel it!

  • This is very perfect movie and perfect soundtrack. I love James Horner.

  • I always wanted 2 b a fisherman since i was 5. I've seen this movie 3 times in theaters. And I cant remember how many on vhs or dvd. My life long friend also had the same passion. I finally got my opportunity when he got me a job outa Cape Ann on a tuna boat. So I quit my job after 4 yrs. and left for Mass. If it wasn't from being so inspired from this movie I don't think I would've pursued that dream and had the best time of my life. Ty everyone who made this possible.

  • I cried like a baby every time i saw this movie, and the music is fantastic, and the last parts it is so beautiful and sad ad the same time :)

  • I'll always love you, Christina! God, it's heartbreaking but so wonderful at the same time.

  • i loveeeeeeeeeeee this filmssssss

  • Who wants to go fishing?

  • is the beginging still to the flemish cap ?

  • @sk8hate1 They go out to the grand banks alot...The Flemish cap is very very far off...the movie depicted things differently then what actually happened if you want a really accurate description of what went down read the perfect storm by Sebastian Judger (Spelling?) Also there is a lot of neat stuff on the internet about the boat. If you like this kind of stuff i suggest you pick up a book called dead men tapping...its about a fishing incident very good book a family friend was actually in it

  • It's one of the best movies I ever seen!

  • best film ever

  • This music always makes me cry.... It really makes you think about your family and friends,

How much they mean to you.

How much you don't want to let them go.

How you'd do anything to keep them safe.

Makes me think of the people I've lost in my life and how much I miss them.

  • James Horner is amazing !

  • The similarities to the Titanic score at very apparant. I guess, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! :-)

  • i love his use of electric guitars in this. it's not overbearing, but definitely there.

  • Before I saw Avatar I didn't know hoe many beautiuful soundtracks James Horner wrote. But now, only now I realize! Now he's in my top five list with John Williams, Hans Zimmer and Danny Elfman. Welcome aboard James!

  • @andraken dont forget Steve Jablonsky!!

  • @StarTopStudios what has he done?

  • @andraken Transfomers and others-YouTube him!

  • @StarTopStudios I didn't see Transformers and I won't, the guys I mentioned before have worked on more important movies. Try with a special movie, not the commercial ones

  • @andraken umm ok...how is Avatar, for ex., music BY JAMES HORNER, not a commercial movie? and whats wrong with "commercial" movies in the first place? aren't all movies made for the purpose of entertainment and $? Ssecond of all, why would a "commercial" movie have music that is not even worth your time YouTubeing? ..btw tranformers has just as good a plot, effects, acting, and perhaps an even BETTER script than avatar. its music is no exception. dont reply back until you have an open mind.

  • @dumdudley rotfl better script! Transformer, an old time cartoon series, better script! LOL Don't make me laugh, please!!! Open mind... WHAHAHAHAHAH go and play with transfomers action figures.

Now I will write a list of movies that have made history, just one for each of the composer I listed before:

    1- Williams_Star Wars

    2- Zimmer_The Gladiator

    3-Elfman_Edward Scissorhands

    4-Horner_Titanic

    5-Shore_Lord of The Rings

    6-Goldsmith_Rambo: First Blood

  • @andraken I meant the movie, not the cartoons. and I agree with you on your list, they are all great composers :) I have been listening to the first LOTR soundtrack for as long as I can remeber... just try to be open to new things, ok? Steve Jablonsky's music is just as beautiful as any of those 6's; just because he didnt get into big blockbuster films isnt his fault.

  • @dumdudley I will wait for a work from him that is not necessary linked to the movie, I mean the OST I've just mentioned are used for many other products nowdays, they are thems you can listen every time for other things that are not related to the movies they come from... or not? While I've never heard of Transoformer's theme anywhere. It is just NOT famous. This movies have soundtracks that have gone far beyond the movie itself. Even if you have not watched the movie you know the theme...

  • @andraken ..perhaps if more people like you gave it a chance, then it "just WOULD be famous". end of story. Like I said, try to be open to new things. ...and stop shotting down everything I say.

  • @dumdudley oops I meant 'shooting' :P

  • @dumdudley I am open to new things, but if I've never heard of him maybe it's not my problem...if I wasn't open to new things I probably shouldn't have liked James Horner... maybe in the future, when Jablonsky will do something more popular... but not now. Now I think I've too many favourites. Anyway it's a matter of like and dislike.

  • @dumdudley and I know you were talking about the movie Transformers but original idea of Avatar: James Cameron's mind. Original idea of Transformers: a cartoon series.

  • @andraken ..oh and hey, while you're at it, check out Joe Hisaishi as well ;) he's great too! ...widen your horizons. and dont shoot this down, either.

  • @andraken

Your favourites happen to be the most famous as well. Definitely more than worthy of Top 5 (especially of all time), but have you really payed much attention to soundtrack musicians?

Sorry for pointing you out, I'm just curious. we have a similar top 5. But I've definitely searched through a fair share.

Danny won me over with the soundtrack from The Hulk.

  • @rockston11 Well I know also Howard Shore, Jerry Goldsmith, Michael Giacchino but I don't like them very much (except Giacchino for some scores). If the 5 up there are famous it's because they're good. But I also like videogames composers.

  • One of the most epic classical pieces of our time!

  • Love Jame Horner...modern day classical music hero!

  • I'm crying now...a very effective music!!!..

  • James Horner is Amazing!

  • one of the most beautiful movie themes i've ever known

  • this movie is like a masterpiece art to all the seafarers.. this can be an inspiration all

  • great film and great rememberance! we need more movies like this! true stories.

    GOD BLESS THERE SOULS!

  • I love it

  • ...I looooove the theme and film sooooooooo much..you all know it is one of pure and simplest movies that have ever been made....but it is so magnificent..unbelievable...............................

  • what a dam good video and the great sound....

  • To the Flemish Cap Guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My God, doesn't anyone ever listen to the movie when it is playing? 1 guy called it the flamish camp, and the other guy called it the flemish cup, jeeze, I am from Newfoundland with no stranger to losing our men on the Grand Banks, this is the proper name ok? its called "THE FLEMISH CAP" is very rich with fish, and dangerous in the fall.

  • do you know the final hymn they sing at the church i know in the United Voices book it is hymn 659

  • Yes, the hymn 659 is called O Son Of Justice! but the last song played in the movie is called Your's Forever by John Mellancamp... if thats not the right Hymn , then let me know and I will find out ok?

  • this music reminds me from the Flyboys sound track

  • hammermäßig, ein geiler soundtrack!!! live gehört beim ausbildungsmusikkorps der bundeswehr --> gänsehaut!!!

  • wat track is the music at 2:50 from? and then wat track is the music at 4:04 from?

  • They are both from track 4 of the score - To the Flemish Cup.

  • @LauraWhitehead1

    Cap*

Well, it's been 2 years you've probably been told that already.

  • to the flamish - camp ;)

  • to the flemish Cap!

  • wow, he's repetitive, he borrows way too heavily from his own stuff, but man, does Horner get the job done

  • My lil sister adores this movie (shes eleven ) and I really think shes the biggest "The perfect storm " fan. So cute

  • horner is the shit with french horns!!

  • HAHAHAHAH! lol sorry that just made me laugh!

  • one of the best films i have ever seen as its based on true events good soundtrack too.

  • To some extend. No-one made it back alive to tell the tale. Obviously Hollywood had it's say in the matter to make it more cinematic.

  • James Horner:Composer Emeritus.

  • There is only one man capable of making music like this. And his name is James Horner.

The only man probably ever being close to making as great music as this must be Hans Zimmer.

  • beautiful.

  • Uno de los mejores trabajos de James Horner.

  • hammer eins der geilstn soundtracks die es giebt hammmmmer i love it
