The song is mainly about how the media and corporate america "raped" the hell out of the song "smells like teen spirit". Kurt was unhappy about how commercialized and mainstream the song had become, so he wrote it as a sarcastic rebuttal. It also was an anti rape anthem in both respects... literal of rape and metaphoric of Kurt's feelings on it.
