  • Thanks for sharing ArmyRanger10.

  • please tell me you're NOT Canadian

  • first of all snow is insulation,so why burn calories digging it out to put three limbs on the ground, and try to call it a bough bed? second you couldnt get a fire going with a zippo,so you just gave up......you should rename the video "how to die from hypotherima"....by never beenaranger10(execpt on x box)

  • don't do what he did, You will die! lol search a true canadian survivalist (MIKE HOLMES) he will tell you how to insulate your shelter the right way!!!!! LOL!!!!!!

  • F A I L !

  • fail

  • lol, I think he was in the woods behind his house :) after video go to warm bed, lol

  • he has the smallest knife to split that wood and what is up with the big snow shovel in the midel of the woods

  • man, how come you are not dead yet?

  • yeah u dont know much about survival at all. you can say i dont know shit but sadly i know shit that knows more shit than u. (lol)

ive been in 2 survival courses for a year, 1 for winter and one for summer/sub-seasons. and i know for sure that you wouldnt last a day in a trench during winter where the elements are far worse than in a backyard. if i had a camera id show you how to survive. god. i might be just a few years older but then again my 9 year old cousin knows more than you.

  • As someone who has had the experience of having to HAVE to survive a few winter days/nights I have to ask; WHAT?!?

Nor do I think you should be using "ArmyRanger." I served and very seriously think that it is a title that should be used only by those that earned it.

  • yeah.. all the guys I know bring a great big snow shovel with then when they go out into the woods... Bwaaa hahaha

  • i think you dont know anything about winter survival.

  • Hey, Cool video!

Cattail plants offer the fastest, and easygoing material that is readily available all across Canada in winter for fire. It takes a spark really well. and quickly starts a fire. Its a lifesaver for anyone who needs a fire immediately after falling in the river or lake.

  • ok so i think you need a better roof on your shelter

and and i think it would have been a bit easyer to light the fire withthe dry stuff you broke off the tree and some birtch bark or somthing

  • wtf! you show people how to die thats )%$§"`*!"

  • no to show people what not to do in the wilderness because you have no idea what your doing

  • words cant describe my feeling... well maybe one.... IDIOT!

  • So you mom let you outside the house for an hour and this is what you and your butt buddy did. nice grave you made yourself. You didnt even make a fire. Why would you post this video online?!!

  • To show people you need to have backup plans in the wilderness. Ive done more in a week than youve ever done in your life in terms of being outiside. Ive noticed you and the same retards are commenting on my videos saying stupid stuff. You and your geek friends have nothing better to do but piss people off online? I bet you dont even have the balls to say that to someones face. If it wasnt for dickheads like you there wouldnt be any problems in this world.

  • @RangerArmy1000 Dude. look at your mane channel vid WTF why did you post that online...

  • wow man thanks now i know how to not make a fire and die in the snow great advice.

  • what if long term survival?..what are your food options? any input would be most welcome

  • In winter theres not much food. Pine trees, spruce, birch bark are all edible and the easiest to get. If you can dig you may be able to eat some edible roots or find some grass.

  • @ArmyRanger10 there is PLENTY of wild game in the wineter, its easiest time to trap them!!

  • @ArmyRanger10 those things you mentioned would be nice but not enough to survive long term. so thats probly what all the people on here wanna know. REAL WINTER SURVIVAL SKILLS, not sum half ass way to make a shelter by a nice proped tree. you need to find the right location and surroundings, foor water and material wise. your video is not infotmational

  • yup ,,the more you need a fire the harder it is to light one...still,,, in the backyard,,not far to go home lol...and yes its the first place i use to test new kit ,I dont want it to fail while in the Middle of Scotland on a cold ,wet and windy night..if it dont work in the garden ,it dont go with me...

  • i persionaly wouldnt bring a big shuvle like that one if it was a day hike but thats just my opinion, what is it's weight?

  • Hey thanks for the comment. Yeah I was in my backyard and I wanted to get it done before dark so I took a regular snow shovel. I have a small plate shovel in my winter gear for hiking in case I have to make an igloo.

  • ohh i see

  • You said the snow was about five ft. deep...you might have thought about making a snow cave shelter. That would have kept you dry and warm without a fire and protected you from the winds. But overall a good video.

  • Great vid!

    5*****

  • Good job made me wish I was young again.

    5*

  • Man....what little snow we got was nothing compared to that! Stay warm and enjoy.

    Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks for the comment. Yeah now i get the bragging rights for snow!

  • no u dont every year since i was like 12 me and my buddys go camping up the mountaines near the rapids of greenlake/ounwatin n im 6 ft flat and the is usaly around my cheast and we never bring a tent

  • practice makes perfect, good job for going out and putting forth a great effort, keep it up. Did you pack that shovel in, its huge?

  • Thanks. I was just walking in the woods only a half mile and i just carried the shovel. I figured it i want to get it done by dark i need a bigger shovel.

  • rockin vid! i havent had the chance to get out. it hasnt snowed much here but has been bitter cold!

  • Thanks. Its been a very cold year so far. Its wierd now they say were going to have rain after it just snowed.

  • 5/5 great info to know!
