I remember MAHOGANY played at the local movie palace in our neighborhood, Loew's Kings in Brooklyn NY. Somehow very fitting, a grand glamorous lady like Ms.Ross singing this beautiful and soaring song seen and heard in gigantic ornate movie palace with chandeliers , statues, etc

This was the main song we sung at graduation, McCall Elementary School, 1985... I always feel sad hearing this song 'cause some of the best days of my life were spent there... Perhaps I should feel even sadder knowing that I haven't lived up to my full potential since leaving that school... Regardless, the song is a classic and has much sentimental value. @SH000FLY I'm someone who primarily loves punk, heavy metal, industrial and other loud clanging and banging that passes for music these days... I also love oldies, classical and any piece of music that can move me in one way or another (even if it's not clanging and banging). :P

That said, Diana Ross has a gorgeous voice and many of her songs, whether with the Supremes or solo, are just classic. Unfortunately, none of the pop "divas" within the past few decades can hold a candle to her.

@xRealite Diana Ross was born on March 26, 1944, so that makes her now the age of 66. She began performing in her early teens and the Supremes were formed in 1959, when she was 15. She went solo in 1970, at the age of 26. I find her to be accomplished and talented and beautiful (in her soul too), and no amount of personal strife or trash talk about her reduces her in any way, in my estimation. She is one of the greatest singers of all time.
