A beautiful and deeply moving rendition of Johnny Cash's "Hurt". If I had but one wish... I'd be selfish and ask for a similar vocal palette as Mr. Moore's. I hope y'all can sense that that aforementioned wish is but a gentle manner to share of how much I love this gentleman's voice.
Was at an Irish Pub in Philly today, and Christy was the musician of choice for a good long period. He is absolutely amazing and so incredibly diverse. I dont like it. Someone else started this debate. Another music teacher and they asked me to have a laugh by looking at this and to give an opinion. Irish music is one of the greatest in the world but how can you compare christy to someone like paul brady, rory gallagher, kila, sinead o connor, the deanes, JIMMY MC CARTHY (the guy whos songs he rips off), Andy Irvine he has actually surpassed all of these people in the music industry and not as talented or hard working as any.
@johnny5803 best tip is to us harmonics instead of open notes if you stick at it for a week or two you will be laughing it improves all of your play apart from that try some rock or blues it makes Irish song easier because you pick up great techniques and follow paul brady he is pure gold the best we have ever produced along with rory

I don`t see how my fav vids is in any way relevant to this argument. Im sure you would make a fine argument if you stuck to the point.. As for tuning guitar I use the vid to catch E as I have no tuner... Or does that discredit any opinion I may have on what qualifies as good music... But maybe you could give me some tips... I dont like it. Someone else started this debate. Another music teacher and they asked me to have a laugh by looking at this and to give an opinion. Irish music is one of the greatest in the world but how can you compare christy to someone like paul brady, rory gallagher, kila, sinead o connor, the deanes, JIMMY MC CARTHY (the guy whos songs he rips off), Andy Irvine he has actually surpassed all of these people in the music industry and not as talented or hard working as any.

@johnny5803 best tip is to us harmonics instead of open notes if you stick at it for a week or two you will be laughing it improves all of your play apart from that try some rock or blues it makes Irish song easier because you pick up great techniques and follow paul brady he is pure gold the best we have ever produced along with rory

There are many beautiful singer song writers out there, I personally love the tone of Christy's voice his music lifts me. I am puzzeled why you would come here to listen to him sing if he is not your cup of tea !!!!

He IS cocky, self obsorbed and not in the same league as damien dempsey. Who sings better plays better and is a far better entertainer. I have heard guys who played with him over in england on about his hissy fits cause people over there wouldnt listen to him. He would end up fighting and walking out of pubs and clubs in order to get peoples attention.

Its not fingerpicked by anyone. christy is totally over-rated as a guitar player singer and a songwriter. Go check out paul brady for some real music. This is just out of key talking over declans lead playing.

There are 1000s of better acts then him playing the gigs aroung ireland only for sinnott here he is lost. clean out your ears and go and support some really great musicians. the feed back Ive been getting has mostly been positive from musicians and negative from the rest. I love Nine Inch Nails, but i think that'Johnny fits the song better, and totaly re-discovered the song.

it all comes down to personal taste. to me christy moore has the better voice and sings this better than cash. the only big diff i can see in the 2 is the music, cash's video is a finished and polished edit, this is a sound check. nine inch nails is still by far the best, cause of the way the music builds up and takes u with it, if that doesn sound stupid. christy is a great singer, done a great cover of floyds shine on u crazy diamond.
