  • My God, Judy reaches way down and pulls up a truly heart-wrenching song. Not a lot of singers from her day - or even today - could pull this off in the way Garland does here.

  • can u upload ella singing it? its on the irving berlin songbook album! please oh please!?!

    judy is great!

  • This incredible song is from show #26. I know that she loved Irving Berlin's songs and I'm so glad that she sang this song. I think we have to ask the question:"Why do we believe every word that Judy ever sang". Well she sang since she was 2 and she learned at the greatest school house there was for singers:MGM. It's interesting, she definitely drew from her own life experiences and yet she made the message so universal. She got into this series thinking that she would make millions.ah well

  • Not as fierce as Barbra's version. Given this song is about a man who'd been lynched and killed, EWW! The both of them have eschewed that point in favor of just a man who left them. I think I need to give props to Babs here.

  • At 2:12 when she sing "Lord" its as if she is ripping through her heart and soul - mine too.

  • wow thank you so much for posting this beautiful heartbreaker.

  • Judy... Sings and feels a song like no other.

I've never heard this song before... Thanks the the vid !
