basically it help with traction and wont blow ur motor at the track so u can have your foot fully on the gas but will stop at a specific RPM u want like this mustang sounds like it was set at 4k RPM all in all its a launch control system

It just lets u set revs, this way if u have lots of horsepower, you can completly floor it off the line and not worry about doing a burnout so long that it takes forever to get the car to rev to the right spot to shift
Once it hits that limit, say 4k, the burnout will stop and you can shift w/o the revs dropping too low in the next gear
