@TNtrainboy15 We just got back yesterday.... My 5 yr old son had us ride that train 5 times over 3 visits! He got to meet the conductors (who were so very nice) and got his picture taken. At one point, the train stopped, and my son said it must need water. When we got back, the conductor told him he was right... ;)
I was married in Gatlinburg on 5/1/10. We were SO grateful for the lack of rain (we were married outside!)! We went to DW the next day... We're taking our family back here on our anniversary! I can't wait! Our son is a train enthusiast!!! :)
There have been several videos posted of her running this season... many of which with headlight on during daylight. The times I've been to DW, they've only started the steam powered generator to run the lights at dusk or at night. Is this a new policy? With the headlight on, it sure does make for some impressive photography and video - especially if you can catch that "sweet" spot on the light that makes a sparkle in the lens.
No. 70 is a beautiful engine - the folks at DW have done a terrific job making this engine not only run great, but look GREAT. The two engines at DW - 192 & 70 sparked my life-long love of trains as a kid. I'm super glad that DW continues to support this "ride" in the park. I'm sure it's an expensive endeavor... but so worth it to the countless visitors impressed by its scale and feelings of nostalgia. To me, the DW Express MAKES DW.

@rwtinker It's the same with me. They were my first steam engines and I have loved them ever since. As for the policy, I am not sure.
