George did get sick a lot, but the reason why people felt bad for Ringo is because he's been through a lot worse as a kid. He had appendicitis when he was six, then after went into a coma. In The Beatles, he fainted after a photoshoot and was taken to this hospitol. He also got tonsilitis, as well as George did. I feel bad for both of them.

One of the hardest things I've ever had to do is sing while having a cold/sore throat. It is HARD. You have to push your voice beyond its normal limits, which could make a sore throat even worse. I'm amazed that George could do such a great job singing even with a sore throat! That must have hurt really really bad! My poor Georgie :( Like I said, I'll bring him chicken noodle soup and cuddle up to him and it'll all be better ;)

i have nothing against george and personally i like him, but ringo was very sickly as a child and he had some kind of stomach disease and he was in a coma for two months as a kid so i think he had it way worse then a little common cold

George's only sister Lou flew up from Benton, IL to nurse her brother back to health. Under Lou's ministrations, George rallied. On 2/8/1964, the other boys played in Central Park and charmed reporters. Poor George was in the hotel, recovering from a bad bout of strep. Lou kept an eagle's eye on George and made sure he took in lots of fluids and got lots of rest and did not overtax himself so he could play on television with the other boys. Good thing, too. Let's raise our glasses to Lou!

PonyPride is right about Ringo's major boyhood illnesses. George got sick every day before his birthday for several years. The day before he turned 13, he had no symptoms. He then got worried because he had NO symptoms, so he went to his doctor who, after an examination told George his tonsils were so good he'd have to be admitted! Poor George served 7 weeks in a hospital with Bright's Disease (nephritis) eating vile gruel and saltless food.
