Cpt. America have a moral strength that none of others have. They are mercenaries + cocky dramaqueen + secret agents with their own agendas + GOD on vacation. He may lack the "superpowers" but that does not make him weak, or even less... useless.

Also Edward Norton had a deal to do only limited number of films ( 3 I think ) and Hulk was one of them. He does not want to be in sequel and producers can't make him. That is his choice. If you want to whine about it, send those whines to Norton.

The Avengers all come together, Nick Fury is angry, they obsess who is the most hardcore, some bad stuff happens, Loki arses around, some other bad dudes appear who we haven't seen yet, Ironman makes us laugh, Thor hits stuff, Captain America's shield still is the gayest thing ever, Hulk goes mad and changes actor, Hawkeye shoots something but no-one cares, Black widow is the token lady superhero doesn't do much. Action scenes, then it looks bad, all works out. The end

So, since this *modern* avengers heroes are, well modern, is Cpt's old friend Tony's grandpa or pa? in Irom man 2 he is shown to be, a minimum of five in the seventies, so he has to be at least mid-thirties, and sicne the original iron man comics where made/set during the sixties, seventies and eighties (I don't really follow marvel or dc comics) it's very possible it then was his dad, but then again then Cap had also only been in statis for 20-30 years rather than naturally frozen for 80 years

I don't really rhink ppl should nag on cpt. i mean, if there's an equalent to batman in the avengers, it's obviously Iron Man. it's not like that portable chernobyl heart-replacement gives him any powers besides a fatal heart attack here n there. Yeah, The Hulk might have bigger endurance and strength than Cpt. but he's not in the same control of them, which pretty much more than halves his efficiency, and Thor is far too impulsive and arrogant-natured. Don't underestimate Cpt.

1. Edward Norton isn't the Hulk because he doesn't work well with others and has a legendary prima-donna attitude. If he was on the project, he'd probably try to rewrite the entire movie so Hulk saves everyone always.

2. Captain America fits in there as a symbol of hope and such. Yes, compared to the others he's lacking in the superpowers department, but he doesn't need them.

3. Not Satan, but close. I'm almost certain that it's going to be Loki.
