  • Thank you so much. these tips will definitely help my photos!!

  • One of the best portrait/beauty photography tips of this year.

  • Simple, straightforward information which stayed on point and covered a single topic - the eyes. Very helpful. Thanks.

  • Some brilliant advice in a world full of crap.

So SO glad I dropped on this.

  • 3:45 is cute lol

  • thank you for your resonse! Im actually asking from the model perspctive as i was looking for videos to help me better model and i really enjoyed your video. Thanks for the tips though as it helps to be a better model when you understand the job of the photgrapher a little better. :) Take care.

  • @heartsxhugz Good for you! More models need to take that approach. Be sure to check out the modeling resources on my web site. Best of luck!

  • what do you mean when you say line up the eyes with the nose? can you be more specific? what should the model do to make that happen? Thanks! Great Tips!!!

  • @heartsxhugz The idea is "where the nose goes - the eyes go". If you look at the examples the more flattering expressions are the ones where the eyes are looking in the same direction as the nose. In facial expressions - the real message is communicated by the eyes so it is important to give them as much impact as possible. It is ultimately not something that you tell your model to deal with - as the photographer this is your responsibility to direct the model. Happy shooting!

  • Very nice Joe, thanks for the info. Do you still use fluorescent for head shots or have you moved on to Pro Photo strobes?

  • @bullmeecham Thank you! I have never exclusively used fluorescent for headshots. There are no rules - I use whatever light suits the shot best - sometimes that is fluorescent, sometimes it is a studio strobe, sometimes it is bounce flash, sometimes it is window light.

    Always remember - R U L E is a 4 letter word.
