fuck this, the song doesnt come from lord of the rings, it's from the movie Requiem of a dream, one of the most epic movie soundtracks ever made, thus the title of the song: Requiem of a dream
@poplol123123 Actually thats impossible unless something like a jet engine run along side the train pushing it with 20,000+ lbs of force and purposely derails it, there are multiple magnets per square inch of rail, one for alligning, one for moving, one for energy, data, etc, but one of them actually pulls it down so it won't derail without that jet engine I mentioned earlier.
Due to time constraints no report was made, it was enough to get it to work and understand the used concepts. If you have specific questions you may always ask me (I prefer e-mail).
The music is by Clint Mansell not Howard Shore. It is the theme from the movie Requiem for a Dream, not The Hobbit. It's not "unreleased" it's from OST published back in 2000.
I was thinking the other day, how awesome would it be if you made a mag lev hoverboard. You could attach a cable to the train and "ski" behind it hovering over the rails.
Sure you'd probably die in the process but it would be worth it being named the first person to ride a hoverboard.
we learned about this in my french class today and this is some cool shit ... i wish american would upgrade amtrak to this magnet train stuff... and yea i said french class.. our teacher is cool.
Hi, firstly my congrats for the video, it's very catchy. Secondly, I am an high school italian student and I am doing the same work with a friend of mine for a school project. Do You still have the material You used for Yours? Or do You have any suggestion?
Fascinated to learn more about the science behind the "pull and push" mechanism that makes it travel so fast. What's cool about trains... making them go faster... "I have the need... the need for speed!"
Sure. I don't have the original files anymore, so best thing to do is search for "youtube download" or something like that on google, are a few programs which enable you to do this.
I'm very impressed with the technology, but I have just one question.
Does this damage electronics? Won't all the electromagnetism fry laptops, iPads, phones? Wouldn't it mess with the electromagnetism of a hard drive and scramble the data?
I'm just saying, because I had a desktop hard drive get scrambled when I put a large speaker(magnet) to close to the case of the desktop.
this method reduces track friction, now I have heard of a new concept which enables this system to run at about 4200km/h, it is to run this track through a tube filled with vacuum (with no air in it) this method reduces track friction and air resistance as well so therefore almost no energy is dissipated (lost to surroundings or wasted).
this system is called something like 'TubeJet', u cant really find much evidence on this, it surely sounds efficient and damn fast,
US colleges came up with the concept and the US Govt thought it was crap so other Nations of this planet are going to have it in use while we in the US just pat ourself on the back about the "good old days"
@rangeclerk yeah it seems all things that actually are innovative they don't like to put into practical use, because oh noes it will cut into my oil money
@smasher162 There maybe some truth to that, however the Oil Companies have more influence over Europe & Japan then the US. There is remarkable developments of Maglift in those regions---A Major Problem in the US are the "Left Wing" here who hate anything new and advanced, as they want us to live the way we did in 1880s & the Right Wing which never learned from American History that Federal Funds & laws supporting are needed to assist in new tech dev. They to want the US to live in the 1880s.
As the MagLev is completely surrounding (for the suspension and propulsion) the track it can't change tracks indeed. So some parts of the track are bendable. Also see:
"The Transrapid vehicle changes tracks using bending switches or transfer tables. They consist of welded steel, multi-span, bending beams with electro-mechanical, rack and pinion drive units mounted on every second support of the bending switch."
I have an idea for a super train that rides on one rail and is actually capable of achieving super high speeds (based on my concept) because the technology in the Rail System actually grabs the train electromagnetically and pulls it along.. The secret is in the rail... I don't have it all quite figured out but would invite any help or ideas with my concept... Thanks Michael - Left-Handed people rule!!!
I have actually made a scale model of this particular train in Germany, The track is a 2 meter oval and uses over 1 kw of power in just under 10 min! It travels at 200 scale KM and looks very impressive, id put a video up but ive been told not to, id like to see your plans!
@LightTheWay2012 - if you're thinking of Linear Induction, that's how the Transrapid and most maglev trains work. Your version sounds more like the linear induction version of a cable car, and is the opposite of most maglevs.
I believe the song was originally from the film Requiem for a Dream. The Kronos Quartet performed the music for the film. Clint Mansel was the composer.
In a university a long time ago a man came up with the idea of magnetic levitation travel. No one wanted to fund his idea it was far to advanced far to futuristic. Afloating train a floating car. Years later a man cleaning in the university found the idea and in resault floating train
maximum around 400 km/h, or 250 miles per hour. If it has to, it can even run a little bit faster, if fully optimized 500 km/h hour (310 m/h) should be doable as well for the real thing.
Compaired to an airplane, it isn't faster in speed, but as you don't have to check-in etc, a magnetic levitation train will be faster than an air plane on short to medium distances. Over 2000 km/h, the train is faster.
yes plz help me because i have to submit my project before Tuesday... It is really important for me to win so plz give me tips nd tell me what material would i need to bulid one
sure, though it largely depends on your available amount of resources, and what kind, as well as your budget to see what a feasible solution would be for building your own Maglev.
There are lots of options of how to build one, most students however only research one aspect of the train: either the levitation, propulsion or stabilization. With a small budget, it's impossible to achieve all three techniques.
I have been intrigued by this before, but man oh man does this video make me want one, lol. Or at least to ride one that goes 500 mph (if only although there is no limit to speed generated by magnetism accept for current switching technologies)
one of the biggest problems was friction due to air. That was only one of the few frictions left. 400/500 mph is already faster than any airplane: not in flight, but the advantage of a train is that you dont have to check-in/out, saving you a couple of hours.
The required infrastructure costs too much though, and railcompanies would rather use existing infrastructure/tracks. Though if the technology reaches a new height (or if airplanes get more expensive (fuelcosts)), it may have a chance.
I am just dying to see more efficient and less expensive ways of travel (here in the states). A lot of countries have higher prices; but they do not have to travel as far. My dad for instance commutes an hour and a half just going to work! Maybe in the future he might be forced to take the metro which is only a little less. That is another issue (in the states) public transit is terrible at least in most states.
dank je. Inderdaad gemaakt met Windows Movie Maker, hoewel de limieten van Movie Maker wel worden beproefd. maybe it will, normal trains, aircraft, ships have all known their fatal accidents, take the ICE in germany in the 90's, did they cancel the ICE? no they still run if im not mistaking
It's got nothing to do with the crash, this is a new train, maglev, and the accident happened on rails. The real reason why it was cancelled was becuase the cost was too high. That's why China has one, imported from Germany, because the Government is rolling in riches.
