To be honest, the music pains me more than the map itself.

Inexperience breeds ignorance, and chances are pretty good that if you've never played any version of CS, before 1.3, you don't know jack shit about it, or the way the maps were designed. Don't get me wrong, the map wasn't too great, but I've had too many good memories on it to dismiss this video and call it funny. 99% of the people commenting this video have never even played on cs_prison with a full server. They will never understand.

Stationary guns in Half-Life (therefore, in CS too) don't have a crosshair. I remember playing this map with a friend (1on1) and it was okay for a round or two. You said it yourself, it was in Beta 1.0, and "first maps ever" aren't very representative :)
