I worked for that camera man in that shot (I think that's him). He invited me to go with him so he could cover Russia's transition to democracy. I really wanted to go, but begged off for a number of reasons. I'm glad I didn't, seeing this footage years later, but a small part of me wishes I had gone to have been part of history.
Still, I'm glad I'm alive, and not a bullet catcher.
Yeah, it was just a shooting gallery. There was no return fire. There's a better overhead shot showing tracers shooting into the crowd. Horrible horrible stuff.
