Very brave undertaking - and, very beautiful playing. I usually get a tear when I hear Michael Brecker's original (or live) version and your playing did the same thing to me! Thank you for sharing this with us.
this is lovely playing keri... my mum just got one for her 65th birthday a couple of weeks ago - i finally calibrated it for her last night and she is still trying to get her head around it! not easy to master at all...
@SuperBrownTrout Hi Danny; praise indeed, thank you so much! The wireless system I use is I believe a AKG WMS40 system. All the best with your EWI playing, Keri.
Hi Keri Danny, here in Ireland great video got my Ewi will have to go to wireless what wireless do you recomend ?, hope all is well with you and all. All the best Danny in Ballybunion.
holy frick that was awesome...i feel like wind midi controllers might be the most expressive..
its just awesome that the range of ways to control virtual instruments is expanding so whatver instrument you play, your sonic capabilities can be expanded instead of just piano players with keyboard controllers
i've jsut recently started trying a guitar to midi system, its without velocity changes but even that is such a useful tool..
Hi. The sound i'm using on the video is a Patchman music volume 1 patch. the sound is called EWV2000 for those wanting to get the same sound. Hope that helps and thank you all for the nice comments that keep coming in.
Nice playing and expression and great job with the transcription. I bought an EWI USB a few months ago but it will take ages until I master this tune. (am workin on "Itsbynneree" from the "Don´t Try This At Home" album at the moment).
hows the filing cabinet with the bits of paper on the wall with the little kiddies chair in the corner with the neon light instead of the a clarinet. that'd be sweet... a clarinet duets with a bb. there was a brecker live in? paris with 2.27's pretty... and that's one with just solo cadenza... so i reckon ewi is good for saving the teeth and finger practise... except for that little tendancy with the octave jump thingy... any way peace out. tris from australia.
Encore bravo !
Moving and very convincing argument for EWI, AKAI should sponsor you because mostly EWI players just rush around the technical show offs and don't get to moving me, but yours does. thanks.
Well done, hell of a job. There isn't really time, and you managed to play along with the synth. You could give yourself a bit more freedom, it's the exact transciption I know, but still.
Regards, Louis Gerrits from the michaelbreckerliverecordings website
You've definately posted some good work. It's one of my favorites from MB and you did it justice. Post more. You inspired me to practice my EWI more.
Thanks sheridan250571, TaipoRoad, and saxman999 for your kind comments, and I'm sure I will add further videos soon. I am also in the process of writing an original piece or two for EWI so watch this space........ Thanks again everyone!
Very nice playing. Loads of musical feel and great control. You make it look pretty easy and it is anything but. If this is only after a few months, then the sky's the limit!
That was absolutely beautiful!

I memorise Michael Brecker's tune to the heart since I first heard it back in 1986.
Your rendition is so touching and heartwarming ...
Thanks for sharing this.

You done a great job on this Brecker song, I'm sure he would approve. Your control of musical emotion is top rate.

Mr Brecker must be full of emotions if he could see you and listen to this tune from the sky and the clouds and the stars...
beautyfull interpretation of the steps ahead "magnetic love" recording.
I like very very much.
thanks
