  • That forehand is impossible. How does someone generate that kind of pace of that ball tsonga threw up? Professional tennis players are freaks of nature, just like in any other sport. Just like I don't have the physical skills to play in the NBA, there's no way I could be an ATP pro.

  • that forehand at 8:58 is ridiculous

  • Practically NEVER did I see Tsonga lose a point when he was at the net.

  • he made that tie breaker his bitch.

  • tsonga has bigger boobs than henin

  • Tsonga has a great style!!

  • Tsonga need change his racquet to win grand slam champion.

  • 5:36

  • Omg that was just amazing serving from Tsonga to win the first set

  • hi

  • This is a wonderful match. In his element, on his surface, when he's in shape, Tsonga is unbeatable.

  • tsonga monfils novak are all amazing. but not federer

  • you two guys o a thing about these two they both can slide on hard court.

  • Tsonga made that tiebreak his bitch

  • nice match...jo was killin novak

  • what was the speed of that forehand at 9:10, the replay is a bit blurred, isn't it 187 or 197?

  • is the ATP World Tour logo in the middle necessary?

  • Tsonga will beat ALL of the top seeded players ALL of the time. All he has to do is show them no respect. Fight them, and NOT play with them. They are not better athletes. When he makes them run for the ball consistently, they ALWAYS break down physically and mentally, then they are easy to beat. I have seen it over and over again. GO TSONGA!!!!!!

  • Tsonga reminds me a bit of a blend between Sampras, Safin and Ali

  • Djokovic and Tsonga are the kewlest two players to watch play each other they really bring the best out in each other (even tho Tsonga has only lost to him one time)

  • @BMTHization twice miami QF and AO F

  • @shogold10 ooh! right!

  • I love how the camera man zooms in on all the ladies before he goes to the game

  • dammit, if only tsonga brings up this performance against rafa. hes never on form when hes against rafa today.

  • tsonga owns

  • my boy tsonga

  • excellent match...these two of my favorites on the atp tour

  • 0:49 Why, hellllo there :)

  • gosh why is tsongs forehand so freaking good

he just wacks it and it'll go in and where he wants

  • I'll tell you why. It's because he's french. Every french tennis player has to be a certified beast out of this world to be a pro player.

  • it would be great if these two became the next big rivalry after roger and rafa

  • HOLY CRAP

WHEN HES UP 5-4 LOVE 40

HE SERVES HIS WAY ALL THE WAY TO THE SET

only a pro can do that...

  • @tennisproderek i second that. that was vintage Sampras-like!

  • trop fort tsonga

  • bravo tsonga !!!

  • This is great, my god that forehand was priceless, replayed and replayed it over again.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! LMAO!!!! AT 5:36 .... the reporter says..

    mamamiya...

    LMAO!!!!!!

    Fantastic return by Tsonga!

  • 8:54 ouahh

  • nice match, jo's my man...i like novak too..lol

  • if only this was the aussie open final :(

  • What seperates these guys from Federer, is that they can beat each other on any given day....but they can't beat Federer but maybe 20% of the time.

Nobody is as determined as Federer! Everyone gives up too fast. Federer is the most skillful at tactics and shot making.

  • You're right. Well put. ;-) They tend to give up and even when they hang in there and fight, Roger goes to another gear...like Serena in some ways.

  • you really that sure everyone gives up to fast?

  • why bring fed into this? He's the greatest; but i could do without people emntioning him where he isn't relevant.

  • @tigercrap I'd have to say that nadal is more persevering than federer! He gets pumped after a shot even if he's down a set or two!

  • @shotyboy yea man, plus rafa rarely loses his temper or throws his racket.

  • @tigercrap I hope you're not including Nadal in that, because it's not true at all.

  • @tigercrap Why always compare these guys to federer and Nadal? Just give these guys some credit! They are all awesome players!

  • @tigercrap That was the case in the past but not anymore

  • @tigercrap I hope you're not including Nadal in that. No one in the ATP tour can match Nadal's mental toughness and resilience, not even Federer. No one. And I'd say they're equal in shot making and skillfulness, the shots Nadal can hit are incredible

  • 8:54

One of the worlds fastest forehands hit ever! Proven!

  • tsonga serve

  • how fast was that Djokovic forehand???

  • 4:08 Great Great volley by Tsonga

  • 1:12 is fucking nice played by tsonga!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Tsonga and Novak both owned Federer...Your an idiot

  • It's not that Tsonga and Djoko are mediocre. Fed is simply too skillful. I've got to say though, Tsonga's drop volleys are incomparable.

  • @mousiehamster Boy were you wrong!

  • They may not be as good as Federrer but still they really practice good tennis ! The "bigger-than-life" attitude is just a way express the joy of winning a point and everybody has own personalty. They never pretend to be better than Federrer. They are just doing their best.

  • Second biggest forehand ever at 8:50

  • Comment removed

  • hes number 8 in the world for a reason and what r u oh yeah your not even pro

  • Tsonga has Sampras-like abilities - forehand returns, volleys, serves, movement. Too bad he is so inconsistent, especially mentally

  • 3:00 to 3:44 that's how you have to serve ;)

  • Novak is a great player, too bad he has a silly attitude.

As for Tsonga, he's huge and that means he is using a lot of energy. Therefore, it's very hard to be consistent.

  • 9:42 it said djoko won the tiebreak ?

  • his volleys are SICK

  • I really love the smooth serve of Novak...great player...and is a shame Tsonga's lack of consistency..

  • what a shot from djokovic at 8:53 !!

  • Novak is far worse, at least tsonga only cheers on winners and not errors

  • any particular reason?

  • its a reply click the next page on the comment's box

  • tsonga, t'es le meilleur!!! c'est toi le boss à panam et marseille!

  • i hope this happened @ last year's australian open

  • Oh yeah thats why he lost in the last US open, in the third round in Wimbledon, and in this Australian Open. Oh yeah and tell me who has won more times between Tsonga and Djokovic!!!

You can google it if you can ass!!!

  • who won yesterday?

  • That game was awsome, Tsonga and Djokovic rock. But I think Tsonga is better!!! XD

  • tsonga pwns djokovic.

    no more

  • djokovic might be a better tennis player but atleast tsonga has heart and can finish a damn match....djokovic is a pussy i loved seeing roddick not just win the match in the aussie open but made djokovic quit...how embarassing

  • lol tht was my fav moment in the aussie, novak is to full of him self

  • tsonga est tres fort !

  • ahh if only tsonga beat djok in the ao finals :(

    tsonga is the man

  • Yeah!!! but he got nervous, it was his first Grand Slam Final, but still he played good

  • it seems that djokovic is replaying with the technique he played at 2006/2007. I think it's better for him to play like at 2008( AO 2008,hambourg,rome etc...).his technique was very good

  • 3:00 at 3:43 hahahahaa

    GO TSONGA

  • lol down triple break point then djokovic got his ass handed to him hahaha

  • the forehand at 8:55 is crazy

  • wow 4 times in a row is pure ownage, almost as worse as nadal pawning federer 5 times in a row!

  • 8:55 KBOOM!!!

  • If Tsonga can work on his backhand which is the only weakness in his game compared to his serves and forehand and work a tad more on his net game and slim down a bit more and stay healthy;this guy surely will be in the top 5.

He plays well on ALL surfaces;even if clay is his weakest surface;I'd still put him ahead of Roddick and Blake if I were to bet $.

He was out of Winbledon and RG last year and if he plays there;his rankign will zoom.

watch out for him at W and the US

  • @timafi if soderling can make two RG final with da same application can too he is better its just he get injured too often as for consistency he two slam quaters and asemi dis year so he start 2 be a consistent player

  • @shogold10 Soderling didn't go far in ANY of the slams until last year.

Tsonga missed Wimbledon and the USO because of his right knee so what is your point?

Is he going to play those slams on just 1 leg?

  • @shogold10 he made quater final at wimbledon dis year (lost to murray) my point is he is becoming a consisitent performer his just needs to stay injury free to take himself to da nxt level he has an all-court game dat he is able to implement on all surfaces

  • It is a certain matchup or Tsonga knows how to dismantle Nole...Wow 4 times in a row, and in all matches Nole was looking equally good...

  • How can anyone say Tsonga aint fast, look at 8:18 and tell me who else can run that fast off the spot (besides Venus Williams)

  • a guy called rafael nadal! maybe u have seen him play before!

  • lol :)

  • yeah nadal! he always slip when hes playing with tsonga at last years australian open!lol

  • yes and nadal owned by federer, and by him

and nadal is a crap on hard court

  • Nadal is no crap on any court. You're saying this NOW? After he's improved his hard court performance?

  • he sucks that's all

  • he couldnt have won the aussie open without being good on hard courts thts y he changed his forehand but he still uses his little twirly spin forehand.

  • hes good on slower hardcourts but faster hardcourts players like federer, murray and djokovic can get the better of him

  • true but nadal still triumphs

  • Least we agree on smoething for a federer fan and a rafa fan to agree on something is like impossable lol

  • tsonga doesnt plays the same level at clay cuz he his game style works better at hard courts and maybe grass but at clay it doesnt come really good maybe he caughts a QF but nothing more at least not yet cuz against players as nole as simon even monfils that move and play better than tsonga at clay he may no have much chances but maybe with time he does it by now he is too far to defeat nadal on clay he didnt even defeat him at rotterdam one of the fastest court on earth man much more to learn

  • awesome! thanks for the highlights! cheers!

  • pretty funny Only that they climb up walls and are able to get to that roof...

  • Tsonga can beat anyone in the top 10 except Federer. It seems like Federer knows exactly what to beat Tsonga convincingly... If Tsonga finds a way to beat Federer, and it could just be a matter of confidence, he could quickly become a contender for the world number 1 spot. We've all seen how Tsonga can do away with guys like Roddick, Nadal and Djoko. It will be interesting to watch Tsonga at Wimbledon this year, if he stays injury free..

  • I totally agree with you, and if Federer easily wins against Tsonga it's because Roger loves this kind of powerful players. I mean, Tsonga is tall and heavy, he doesn't move that well, so especially with Federer's slices it doesn't give any rythm to him to make a powerful shot as he uses to do against other players.

Anyway, I still think that Tsonga is the only one (with Djokovic perhap's) to be able to beat Rafa...on clay! Just remember how he destroyed him in the OA'08...

  • If Tsonga can play at the same level in Roland Garros this year as he did during the OA'08, no doubt for me, he can beat Nadal! The score would be tighter of course, but it's a possibility.

  • na, tsonga is hit and miss, he is another blake!

  • please! Tsonga's serve is better forehand is better he's got more power and unlike Blake he has made the FINALS of a SLAM Blake can't even make the semis of a major and he's 29 the only player Tsonga hasn't beaten yet is Federer NNadal:check Murray:Check Dkokovic:check Roddick:check Blake:check(2 times) and he destroyed Blake both times)
  • "forehand is better"

na, his backhand is clearly better - his forehand is not quite as good.

  • i agree.blake has the most powerful forehand on the tour together with gonzalez.

  • dude ur hella dumb, tsonga has some of the hands in the game. next to fed and murray, no one else is better at net. he's gonna take indian wells too.

  • dude ur hella dumb. he's way better than blake. blake just hit hella hard and hoped shit would go it. if u watct jo play, ya he hits hard but he has one of the best net games in the business. and he;s made a slam and one a master series title already

  • I've heard one commentator talk about Tsonga maybe not being as fast a mover on the court as some of the top players, but I do wonder if that's really true. Just look at this video and you can see how fast he can run to a drop shot and control his slides and get back into position. He may not be as agile as Sampras, who could fall and stand back fast enough to get to the ball, and do those net dives on hard surfaces without breaking any bones. But I'm sure he'd beat anyone at the 100m sprint.

  • Totally agree. Federer does really well against powerfull players like Blake, Roddick or Tsonga. Tsonga for Wimbledon and Monfils for RG are strong outsiders..

  • lol comment il l'enchaîne de 3:00 a 3:43 ^^

  • Go go Tsonga! ^^

  • After that loss in AO final Tsonga plays against Novak every match like last match of his life.

  • I personnaly think that Novak is still a bit more talented from the baseline than Tsonga, but for the volleys and when he is in good shape Jo-Wi is just insane. And basically he may know how to play against Djokovic to beat him too.

  • Well, I think Novak is really good, technically. And his game is very competitive. His performance is good enough to beat a lot of top players, but when it comes to Tsonga, Jo really knows how to play against serbian. And yes, he plays insane.

And Tsongas volleys are very good, I still remember that semifinal against Nadal, that was a volley-show through the match.

  • :( too bad

  • nope, too good. His comeback from 0-40 at his serve was great in first set at 5-4

  • 187km/h le coup droit de djoko dans le tie break, c'est le record non ?

  • Je dois dire qui moi non plus je n'ai jamais vu un coup droit à cette vitesse là!

  • Great Tsonga.

  • That's 4 wins in a row against Djokovic...owned !

  • Actually it's even 5 winners straight on serve! Crazy!

  • Love Tsonga. He is the man.

  • Poor Novak. Good luck next time
