One question though... I've done some research and I found out that the drummer on this record is Per Eriksen. He is a fantastic drummer, but why doesn't he play in any bands at the moment? I don't get it...

I don't know what any of those three bands have in common with LA. Anorexia Nervosa is generic bullshit BM (I like The CNK much better), CoF put out 4 quality albums (In style, not even close to LA anyways) but rapidly became uninteresting. And Dodsferd sounds like hundreds of other bands, but certainly not the same style as LA. I just don't understand why you named those bands to explain Limbonic Art's music.

Alright, Il buy that. I like Anorexia Nervosa despite their relative mainstream-ness. I would argue that stylistically, the CoF of Dusk... and Cruelty... is somewhat similar. I said Dodsferd for no other reason than what you mentioned, they sound like every other bm band. They are pretty by-the-book(other than their new crusty/punk stuff).

If you haven't heard anything from LA yet, get yourself the first two, Moon in the Scorpio and In Abhorrence Dementia, they are more "Emperor-esque

" and less heavy than Ad Noctum. Moon in the Scorpio is without a doubt a classic for Symphonic Black metal.

nah, i think the drum machine is a better choice, since they use a heavy amount of synth they go nicely together. plus a machine is more consistent, which these guys need for a constant consistent battery

On an album it doesnt matter too much but if i went to a live show i wouldnt want to pay to listen to a recording -_-

ummm, they have sorta same style I guess, but it is more of a folk addition to just normal black metal (folk is sorta symphonic) so it ain't really an offshot of symphonic black. As for Wintersun, they are not Viking but rather melodic death metal. Some people get them and Amon Amarth confused as Viking metal, but they are MeloDeath as far as musical style.

Viking Metal is more then lyrical themes. If you look at just the music, amon amarth is melodeath every way you look at it, with possibly viking influences, but that is not the dominate genre. If lyrics themselves were enough then ensiferum would be viking metal, but they are folk.

Btw, if you like viking metal, look up Enslaved they are the epiphany of viking metal.

As I said Viking metal has it's origins from Black Metal, Enslaved and Bathory were the founders of Viking Metal, it represented a more diverse music style and a shift from satanism to paganism. Since Enslaved was one of the first it does sound alot like black metal. Amon Amarth is of course viking themed (thor arise is their demo). you listen to their new album Twilight of the Thunder God? It comes out today in Scandinavia, but I got an advanced copy. It is possibly one of their best.

yeh I always use to mix up between Symphonic Black Metal and Melodic Death metal, they sound almost the same like 80% approx lol.

I mean compare Old 'Man's Child(Symphoblack)with Skyfire(Melodeath)...

I have absolutely no problems distinguishing symphonic black and melodic death. Death metal and black metal are simple to distinguish. And while melodic vs. symphonic is a bit harder, there are some very noticeable differences... :P

Dont get my wrong, im a big cradle fan and I own all their cds, and Godspeed is a real return and a great album, and somtetimes I even think its better then most other black metal albums, but Godspeed is not black metal, its extreme metal wich black metal influences
