  • so meelodic...so sweet

  • malmsteen and his manager disliked this...

  • My goldfish just exploded due to Mr. Gilbert's powerful playing...

  • The only song Paul Gilbert ever Sweep Picked..

  • @MrGodPowered And Motorman?

  • @MrGodPowered and thats because he wanted to do a duet with malmsteen...

  • the bass line is so "black star"

  • @imbaguitar This was supposed to be done with Yngwie, but he refused to do it for some reason...

  • @UnknownSect333 actually this was supposed to be a challenge to yngwie but he never catched it for some reason.... :-)

  • Masterful

  • This song made writing my college essay epic!

  • Methinks the masturbasser is on the cover because that get-up is effin awesome.

  • If yngwei actually agreed to this duet it would have been that much more awsome. It was cool to hear gilbert imitating malmsten though haha.

  • I don't care waht anyone thinks. To me Paul Gilbert is amazing. He plays with feeling and emotion. He doesn't just play as freakin' fast as he can. He feels the music unlike other artists.

  • why is he holding a bass?

  • @JAD3889

    Because that's not Paul.

  • @platinumaster7700 Oh, I figured it was, since he's the only one in the band that matters.

  • @JAD3889

Yeah but on his other album covers are random people. This might be a random person too.

  • @platinumaster7700 The dude on this picture is Juan Alderete also known as John Alderete the bass player, thats why he's holding the bass. Don't ask me why he's on the picture. But that's him. Great musician.

  • i raped the replay button so many times. it never gets old.

  • who's the bitch that disliked this

  • Yngwie owns Paul. The only thing Paul can do is playing that gay shit I´m the one to whit you!!!

  • @0zzyfan44 don't be silly...

  • @0zzyfan44 please dont compare Yngwie and Paul, they are both great guitarists..... so dont hate appreciate and in the long run paul would rip Yngwie appart....because gilberts just that good so shut the fuck up

  • why does the hair on my arms and in my neck always standing straight up while listening to Racer X

  • @guitarsender because of the epicness!

  • Look at that, one bieber fan!

  • whose the fucker that disliked the song.

  • I was watcher 66.666 YEAH!!!!!

  • I would have loved to see Paul have a duet with Jason Becker, but we know that can't happen : (

  • @15viceandvirtues I know! :D I would love to have a duet with Becker aswell. Id play concerto with him... :(

  • So beastly. Mind is blown.

  • big bang kame hame ha!!!

  • this song is way to badass for yngwie

  • someone send me to hospital, i think my mind just BLEW the fuck up

  • the guys face on the album ^ is my face when i listen to RacerX

  • Level of awesomeness : "divide by zero"

  • @PepinoMichoacan Undefined amount of awesomeness? I guess you mean 1/R where R goes to zero amount of awesomeness :P

  • @PepinoMichoacan goes to infinity

  • @PepinoMichoacan the limit as x->∞ of x.

  • @PepinoMichoacan So it's 0 divide 0?

  • @robbiehunter5 any number divided by zero = undefined

  • @bhothemetalhead yes i would love to see gilbert improvise some friedman stuff...

  • How about some of marty friedman. thumbs this up so that this request may be seen.

  • How about some of marty friedman

  • the one dislike is the person that decided to make a bet with himself. he would hit "like" if he could play it and make fewer than 1000 mistakes.

  • The Empire State Building disliked this song.

  • @wifflwaffl because it got ruined in the making of the song?

  • @wifflwaffl eh? :S

  • @lookattheceiling King Kong.

  • @UnknownSect333 now i feel like a retard...

  • Guitar gymnastics. I will say that this guy is more creative in his soloing than Yngwie. Most decent guitarists are.

  • Paul Gilbert is not of this earth

  • stop giving a bad comment please. both paul and yngwie are great for me. they are skilled in their on way. by the way, i love this song. \m/

  • one person is sick

  • Gilbert is MONSTROUS on this!!!!!!

  • Paul and Yngwie are both legends and anyone who tries to compare great guitarists like these two just don't get it. This whole guitar "competition" thing is what annoyed me so much in the 80's and is why we eventually wound up with Grunge, no more solos and basically no good guitar. Listen to it, appreciate it for what it is -- meaning something you'll never come close to -- and stop bickering like little girls over who's the hottest Jonas Brother. This "versus" and who's better crap is BS!

  • watch my cover because i want to be cool and get more views than the indie kids at my school

  • Yngwie rules. Paul is in his shadow forever.

  • @sailgoal Ha, I doubt it. I bet the reason Yngwie turned down the opportunity to play on this record with one of the greatest guitarists of all time is because he would have been shown up for the joke he has become over years of being conceited and up his own @ss. Yngwie is living in the shadows period. Who is he these days?

  • @iandeansilk He's a legend. Did you see G# tour he was hands down over the others. I'm not saying Paul and the other can't play. But Yngwie deserves the respect he broke through before any of them had a clue.

  • @sailgoal He is a douchebag. He lost the right to deserve respect by telling everybody he is the best. He isn't, and other than playing fast what has he ever done really? In fact, he has gotten worse over the years. His technique is fast becoming sloppy, his style is scrappy and he hasn't got a clue about what else has happened since the 80s.

  • @iandeansilk You sound like a jealous little bitch. Your opinion is like your asshole... long steamy pile of shit!

  • @sailgoal I'm not entering into a debate with somebody who thinks Yngwie Malmsteen is better than Paul Gilbert. You obviously have the same cranial capacity as a small fish. Enjoy the rest of your life with your head up your ass.

  • @iandeansilk You are in a debate the difference is that your head was already up your ass you little pussy. You think Yngwie would not play with Paul because he would somehow lose? You fucking fleeb Yngwie probably had better things to do with his time. You are the one who is sadly mistaken because your ego is so big you think your opinion is better than the next guy. I bet you got beat up a lot in school ya big pussy!

  • @iandeansilk

Cut the bullshit. Gilbert has been a lifelong fan og Yngwie, and Yngwie loves the fact that Gilbert looks up to him. That being said I'm quite sure he had something better to do at that excact time, and that's the reason he didn't do it. If you so deeply want to know, just call Yngwie's managment or send Paul an email and ask. But calling Yngwie a bad player is just pure ignorance. He's the reason for neoclassical genre, shredding and a HUGE influence on Gilberts style of playing.

  • @mcintyreftw You're giving Yngwie far too much credit. Check out The Mahavishnu Orchestra's first album. On a speed and accuracy level...Yngwie's fantastic.

  • @estvan56 John McLaughlin padre de todos estos chavitos de la guitarra

  • best part 2 .57- 3 .31

  • Comment removed

  • @sailgoal Dude, Yngwie had his first solo cd "rising force" in 1984. He was 18 when he released that meaning you were listening to tapes he released from Europe when he was 7 years old??? Wow, you need to send me those...

  • @sailgoal Yngwie is only the true innovator to those who have a memory span of a couple of decades... Also, that comment wasn't true was it? Because Yngwie did release Rising Force in 1984. Did you listen to recordings he did as a young child? I don't think so.

  • Comment removed

  • @sailgoal

That's not true. Malmsteen was born only three years earlier than Gilbert. They're more like contemporaries rather than older vs. younger. Both have their own styles, albeit slightly similar, but this is really just Gilbert's attempt at playing the style of a contemporary.

  • 4:52, most powerfull chord i ever heard in my fucking life

and the ending is fucking awesome

  • I prefer the rock/metal shred more than Yngwie's neoclassical thing, and if I do feel like some more neoclassical stuff, my opinion is that Cacophony and especially Jason Becker blow Malmsteen's stuff away. There's just something about Yngwie's play style that's a bit textbook (even though it's way more technical than any of the shit I can play). But my opinion's suck anyway.

  • paul is the better player i guess but yngwie writes the better music imo, its more epic than paul's

  • @Aremine ............ yingweis music is harmonic minor and phyrigian dominant ocaciannyl blues his music is boring compared too pauls listen too tech dif scarified um the fuzz universe album silence followed by a defening roar get out of my yard etc

  • @crisDAwog i know those songs, but pauls music is rock music...a great player but its just rock music. yngwie takes it to another level with his classical touch and the keyboard and everything.

  • one person is yngwie malmsteen

  • Nice tune there!

  • Cool song. But we all know Yngwie owns Paul!!!

  • @0zzyfan44 So not true!

Paul his technique is close to perfect while yngwie makes alot of mistakes live.

  • @0zzyfan44 Yngwie isn't at all near as good as Paul. Yngwie is a sweep artist, and nothing else.

  • anyone get the badass mecha feeling from Viking Kong?

  • @prankovalero ummmm yes!!!!

  • Yngwie Malmsteen turned down Paul's offer because he knew he'd look like a 4 year old.

  • FYI: Racer X's bass player, Juan Alderete, is now the bass player for The Mars Volta =D

  • I think alot of hair metal bands in the 90's secretly wanted to be racerX. Too bad

  • WHY SO KICKASS

  • one person's family was eaten by the powerful awesomeness of the Viking Kong

  • He's one of the most surgical reock/metal guitar players I've ever heard; I'm gonna start calling him Dr. Gilbert

  • I can't believe this band isn't incredibly famous

  • @MaidenDio252 It's because they didn't buy into the drugs and debauchery that plagued so many other LA rock bands during the 80s.

  • @MaidenDio252 couldnt agree more myself the solo is ridiculous its melodic fast and exiting!! i love it

  • aww Thats it! I am burning my guitar today and just gonna play tic tac toe instead!

  • send me a back track .. tnx (mangtipakay_88@yahoo.com)

  • nice 1 ^_^

  • PERFECT COVER ON ONE OF THE FAMOUS GAME !

    NEED FOR SPEED !

  • Racer X frickin rules. Good to see so many fellow rockers who still have good taste in music.

  • Love Alderete's bass sound in this band too!

  • i love technical difficulties, viking kong,Y.R.O, scarified, superheroes, king of the monsters.... sorry i cant go on like this, i love all of them!

  • hm, Fire Extinguisher Man ain't half bad with a guitar. lol, especially since its a bass in the picture and he has no fingers. :P

  • this is TOTALLY like something malmsteen would do... the riffs and especially the solo, with the diminished runs and the style... even the modulation. It was Gilbert was like.... " oh ya, malmsteen??? ya I can do that too"!! ha ha

  • @eden1955 it was written as a duet for them both, by paul

  • @ShrededToDeath Really? That's awesome, I love it!

  • @ShrededToDeath Really? That's awesome, I love it! So is Malmsteen playing on it then?

  • @eden1955 no he's not in related vids theres a vid here called viking kong with paul wearing a pinky red shirt, he will explain the story better then i will.

  • He's got some funky outfits.

  • God is nothing vs Paul Gilbert

  • Fuck!!! iT will tkae my whole life to palys half as fast as him....i mean half as good -.-

    Hes da guitar godd

  • @megadethxdsa

    lol

  • all i have to say is mama..\m/

  • WOE!!! Great Tune.......Amazing Talent.....Very Inspiring.....Keep playing all the pretty notes.....

  • 1st video where I see no dislikes. Better stay like that.

  • @ShareefAddo lol i think you jinxed the vid

  • I just Jizzed at the Solo <3

Even Air Guitaring This Song was hard <3

  • im hooked on this song....

  • thats one fucked up picture.

the song is kick ass tho

  • paul gilbert? is johnny alderete LOL

  • Hey everybody - listen to 4:27 on watch?v=fmLu-4Izjvc

and tell me its not the same fucking riff.

  • @nirvanafrik it's not the same fucking riff.

  • @nirvanafrik eh ... no.

  • malmsteen!

  • heres my argument as to why paul gilbert cannot be buckethead. paul is way better than buckethead

  • @MrSchfiftyFive Come on, leave this alone. Paul is skinnier than Buckethead and that's it.

  • @MrSchfiftyFive paul gilbert taught bucket head in the art of the guitar, thats a fact!

  • His portrayal of Yngwie was generous

  • MJAAAAO GORO ZATRIANO!

  • Which would mean Brian Carrol (sorry for the spelling) would not really exist? I highly doubt it.

When you listen to both... there are similarities, but they are different guitarists. They don't sound the same.. anyway why would he want to have 2 careers? I don't see what would be the point.

To me, this is a completely false rumor

  • @jorgenson1717

Paul Gilbert was Buckethead's teacher. they are not the same person.

  • he taught buckethead for a year or so at mi

  • yea, i heard that rumor but buckethead is actually guy named brian carrol and who said that they are the same person is a very stupid motherfucker...how the fuck can they be the same person???

  • He's not, Brian Carroll is Buckethead. He took lessons from Gilbert long long long ago.

  • @jorgenson1717 If you actually did your research you would have found a video from early 1980 or late 1970's in which buckethead plays in a local band without his mask and bucket. If you look at his picking hand you instantly know it's buckethead.

  • @molomono Try late 80s lol...1988...Bucks only 41

  • @TaxideaTaxis Lol, yeah, he was 19 in the video orso.

My bad, must not have been thinking straight. : P

  • he does a great job of conveying both his style and yngwie's which i believe was the meaning behind this song

  • Actually he wrote this song in this style because he wanted to record it with Yngwie.

But due to Malmsteen bad temper, he ended playing all by itself witch I believe it came out a whole lot better that the other way around...

  • this song is just pure badass!

  • Yngwie didn't turn it down because he was too pompous. All he knew is that it was going to be a duet, though he didn't know with whom. He took one look at Paul and said: "Damn. . ." and walked away.

  • Oh yeah?

That sucks, I think it would have been cool as hell if they were to play something like this together.

  • explain me that man

  • @m415mike lol? sorry that sounds like pomposity to me.... what are you smokin'?

  • @m415mike it still sounds like pompous to me

  • @m415mike both are fuckin awsome dont spoil the dinner !!!!

  • this song is fucking crazy omg

  • So much paul and ynwie talk here.

I say, check out the new shredders!

takayoshi ohmura > He is fucking awesome :)

  • takayoshi ohmura is pretty good. and has amazing technique.

    but is such a fag.

  • There's probably so much talk about Paul because this is a PG song.

  • lol pwned

  • @Blackbeast123 What ya talkin bout fool. This guy sucks balls in terms of originality. Check out Andy James for real new talent, he'll make you wish you never picked up guitar.

  • @TheCrazyFuckingCunt drrrrrt WRONG

  • @TheCrazyFuckingCunt Well, I've been "checking out " Andy James and while the guy is truly talented, I don't see anything original about him. In most of his songs he is a copy of Michael Romeo (Symphony X). Though I admit sometimes he sounds like John Petrucci. Nevertheless he's good, but he's far from having his own style and being original. So I think you can't cut the "originality" lesson....

  • @TheCrazyFuckingCunt this guy sucks balls in terms of originality? heh chuck your guitar in a bin and go listen to 50cent

  • @TheCrazyFuckingCunt Think before you post, man. You'll be all gargling over Pauls's balls cause mainly of his talent. The simple term to describe your knowledge is: . That's right, blank. :)

  • @Weirderino If you read my post properly you and all ya other losers would realise I was replying to Blackbeast123 who said that Takayoshi Ohmura was fucking awesome, which I completely disagree with... I reckon Paul Gilbert is one of the best shredders out there anyway.

  • He is not Paul, He is John Alderete, in this album called ''The X-Tinguisher'', Paul in this album is Called ''The Electric Bat''.

  • Paul used a bundt cake pan as a jetpack for his superhero costume rofl.

  • wtf are you talking about!?

  • eargasim any one?
