He lectures and does demonstrations at casinos in 5 continents BUT was also on American's Most Wanted as a technical EXPERT as these people were cheating casinos or riverboats I forget which, but no one id #1 like Ortiz. Sure there's AWESOME Card Men, like Forte, Turner, Wilson, Nash, Ackerman, Carpenter, Jay...etc but Darwin IS THE BEST !!!

@SASEAprey He is certainly incorrect in claiming that he teaches the material, however there is plenty we can learn from one of the best card handlers such as rhythm, choice of grip, timing etc . This is what the person who has the basic technique down is looking for, and also why many people regard the Gambling Protection Series by Steve Forte as a learning source by observing and learning things that are arguably as important as the actual technique.

This DVD doesn't teach, but you can learn

during the bottom deal, darwin just proved that even the experts cant eliminate the four finger flash during the strike bottom.

i hear the same rubbish time after time, "Do not flick the four fingers out when dealing the bottom" Yet all the experts still do it.

@OhWhatASleight I agree, it's pretty much impossible to not extend 3 fingers out when bottom dealing. Not 4 though. Your index finger should remain flush with the outer edge of the deck, holding the deck in place against your palm. Your middle, ring, and pinky fingers, have to extend to let the bottom card pass. However, I've found that the best concealment for the bottom deal is to simply tilt the outer edge of the deck towards the table.

It is impressive and you will learn alot of concepts however,he does not explain all the techniques.It is like he is doing this Video for casinos and not magicians or would be cheats.

anyway,I just got Ortiz's three DVD'c card shark series.I was actually very pleased with them.No gaffed card and almost no set ups especially if you know how to cull the cards

So what would you recommed for learning false deals like up the ladder and strike secounds deals and so on?

hi guys, like it or not im an up and coming gambler in a game called "tonk" at school. My school is literally overrun with kids gambling, over half the kids have a deck of cards on them. I am looking to improve my play by learning how to stack the deck and get a better hand.

There is Ricky Jay (who's also a great magician), Richard Turner (who can do the same things Darwin Ortiz does, but blind), Dai Vernon (who's considered one of the fatheres in card manipulation) and S. W. Erdnase, just to name a few, but the best.

I see Paul Wilson as a good way to start in card magic and manipulation. He shows you the beginner stuff. And that is useful.
