Really cool, I serve with PPCLI in the Canadian Armed Forces and I can honestly admit I did not know about the British Black Watch... I just knew it as canadians in WWI and WWII so this is a history lesson for me. great video.

Most Scots people have immense pride in their local regiment as it put a relativley small area on the world stage. Just like these guys did for the Dundee, Perthshire and Angus area.

However, it makes the process of becoming a US citizen, which is already quite long and involved, much longer and much more involved. That being said, most give up thier original citizenship in order to move the process along.
Just make sure you're in Scotland to vote on a special movement by our government in 2014. It's more important to national politics than anything you have been asked to vote for so far.

@crapatev No. In fact, the Supreme Court has a couple of cases where they have decided in favor of the rights of a citizen to hold dual citizenship between the US and another country. However, it makes the process of becoming a US citizen, which is already quite long and involved, much longer and much more involved. That being said, most give up thier original citizenship in order to move the process along.

@JollyG3 You'd be surprised at how many immigration rules are relaxed (or rather altered) for guys wanting to join the army, particularly with armed conflicts ongoing. The US is certainly that way. You ought to call up a UK armed forces recruiter and ask. Seriously. Google UK army recruiting... As for joining the Black Watch itself, I have no idea how you do that.
