  • Great to see this visually--for years I only knew of this sketch from the "Dead Parrot Society" album. However, some key scenes were left out like Graham Chapman's attack of flatus and Michael Palin's "gaiters" scene. In order for these posts to be effective, you have to leave the funniest parts IN.

  • This is definitely NOT 1979.

  • Moo!

  • What's that stuff at the end? I'd like more of that, please. D:

  • Simply wonderful :-)

  • is the guy playing the murderer Eric idle?

  • no... it's Peter Cook

  • @MissHarpoMarx Peter Cook.

  • cook adlibbed most of his lines

  • I LOVE Cleese's interrogation of Cook. Hilarious!

  • is that idle skating?

  • Now that you mention it. . ..

  • I think it's actually Neil Innes, the "Seventh Python". He wrote their music and toured with them (he was Sir Robin's minstrel in Holy Grail). He also is one of the policemen carrying the coffin.

  • You can see that Palin's ready for the Lumberjack song...

  • John Cleese is so good in this!!!

  • Order in the skating vicar!

  • On with the pixie hats!!!

  • I think this was the sketch where, although given the opportunity to play one of the parts, Peter Cook staunchly refused to learn the words. Good stuff.

  • Peter Cook is a legend, I bet the Pythons were thrilled to have him be apart of one of their sketches.

  • This was done in 1979 as part of "The Secret Policeman's Ball", a charity event to benefit Amnesty International.

  • LOL! Great stuff. Does anyone happen to know when/where this was filmed?
