  • i heard that alchemy was the basis in which chemistry was based off of and it was a very miss guided not to mention no one practices it any more because people are smart enough to understand this

  • are you reading this off of wikipedia ?

i know i have heard this before.

  • Alchemy is a very old craft, can such a modern Wicca accurately understand such and age old craft?

You seem very intent on linking the two together.

  • @DreamsThatDontExist It is certainly true that Alchemy is very old, but that doesn't mean that it is something the modern mind cannot understand. The idea that earlier peoples were too different or too primitive in their ideas to be understood by the contemporary mind, while not an uncommon presumption, is not one that I can agree with. I do realize that the majority of people dismiss alchemical thought out of hand based on this premise, but in that I think they make a mistake.

  • Is he reading cue cards, just to the left of the camera?

  • i been to egypt the soil is red. khem = black is the people. since they themselves coming from nubia/ kush. the greek did not give egypt jack. read the literature ofm the greek they say they get all they stuff from egypt. and if you study so called primative culture it is all achemy

  • wow. You could have a least re-worded the content or atleast gave credit to the film you took this from.

  • wow. You could have a least re-worded the content or atleast gave credit to the film you took this from.

  • Are you a professor? You're very well spoken, and when I listen to this I feel a bit like I'm in lecture.

  • ha , dude you are a trip. The candles books and statue are cool makes the set like masterpiece theater.

  • look ad extremist christianity

  • Apparently you have not studied this as long as I have to be making those kinds of statements. Over time Alchemy has been seen as spiritual; it talks about this kind of thing in my video so look and comment what it shows.

  • this is always going to be second hand knowledge until it is perfomed

  • I think as long as one avoids human transmutation or any horrible chimera experiments, alchemy can be a rewarding experience. Like any knowledge, it can be put to good or bad use.

  • HAHAHA obligatory FMA response...

  • just because you are a pagan means nothing to support your self in saying that this is "all wrong", you mean to say: as far as you know and have been educated in that this is all wrong. I'm just saying you know.

  • ok people whine alot, but some people out there just want to more about a certain subject, so let them complain so some one can complain back to them adn correct them if not just give them a better or different point of view to help them better understand more what is it they want to learn

  • There's no such thing as enlightenment...

  • Enlightenment:

    1. enlightening of somebody: the enlightening of somebody, or something that enlightens somebody

    2. enlightened state: the condition of somebody who has been enlightened

    3. achievement of spiritual state: the realization of spiritual or religious understanding, or, especially in Buddhism, the state attained when the cycle of reincarnation ends and human desire and suffering are transcended

  • Read Sit Down and Shutup by Brad Warner...dickhead

  • hello umm im not sure who to talk to or who to ask ive reached this point and i need to know where to go from here.

  • thanks

  • alchemy is strictly about internal transformations but it is very vague so people interpreted it in a way of chemistry.

  • Actualy the original Alchemist were persistanly pursecuted and the reason why it was put in a "science text book" form so to speak is because it was to conceal the true meaning of this art.

  • I was rolling my eyes within the first 30 seconds. This guy hasn't got a clue.

  • This has enlightened me. somewhere i read that the alchemists notes were always in code. this makes sense

  • dude your iq is over 1 million

  • simple

  • Just do a search on youtube for full metal alchemist or google it and u will see

  • Rev. Lewis, I always learn from your talks. Thanks.

  • Wow Some of you fucking dorks watch way too much anime

  • whorelord you are an ass i mean have you even watched full metal alchemist? besides wtf is with the name whorelord.

  • Actually I have watched full metal alchemist Belive it or not. I've seen all 51 episodes including the 2 movies that I know of. And i've played the game on ps2. Thing is i know when to turn it off. And I know that when it really boils down to it anime or not it's just a cartoon and for the MOST PART It's fantasy. And I am the lord of the whores hence the name whorelord

  • The reason you got so many bad fingers for this is because this is not the alchemy in the anima. this is what some believe as true. So why did you comment and watch this and then call people dorks

  • is you iq over 300 lol

  • OVER 9000!

  • the image of a alchemist is not a gold maker but ed alric heh heh full metal alchemist :3

  • first law. equivalent exchange, you retards who watch the full metal alchemist series and think that you can do something that isn't real better be ready to give something of equal matter. alchemy isnt really and even if it was or is. its probable something that you shouldn't be involving your selves in. by the way it hasn't anything to do with chakra or manna.

  • You expect to know much about a world that is far larger and depper than we can know.

  • that is an anime show lol, its pretty cool

  • full metal alchemist

  • che cazzo è?

  • Great Video, as there needs to be more explaining the psychology and spiritual development behind alchemy. However I think the constant reference to Wicca is misplaced. I think you could have used the same symbolic analogies from numerous paths that more directly incorporate Alchemy. Freemasonry, Thelema, and general Western Occultism would have worked better, but I see the point of relating to a wider audience.

  • Ya'll are missing the whole point. Alchemy is a way to control your own mind. To find spiritual enlightenment and gaining the knowledge of the universe and everything in it. More than 3/4 of the U.S. believe in a God of some kind. The others don't believe in anything. The simply beleive in themselves. "If only had faith the size of a mustard seed you could move mountains." Termanology.. but never the less possible. Not so much to move mountains but to beleive in something and make it happen.

  • Is alchemy obtainable ya think? regarding controlling your mind and really recieving what you think or want?

  • Great video! Luxor Media has a full film coming out about the secrets of Alchemy. Look for "Alchemy - Sacred Secrets Revealed", from the trailer it looks like its going to be awesome.

  • Awesome, indeed!

  • If these people really can turn lead into gold among other things, I'll believe it when I see it. Put it on youtube. Who cares about the value of gold - if alchemy crashed the price of gold the world would sit up and take notice.

  • Glenn Seaborg achieved it. I'm not exactly sure why you see this as an impossibility? The way that Mr. Seaborg achieved it isnt cost effective therefore placing no threat to the gold market. If I'm not mistaken it took a nuclear reactor.

  • That is correct, we can do it but it is not cost effective and it does take a nuclear reactor.

  • You're thinking "cost of production."

Alchemists could kill the economy because if Gold is THAT easy to obtain....

It's basic economics: supply and demand.

  • Using nuclear power to make gold isnt economical at all. That's like using 5 bucks to make something and selling it for a dollar. Cheap alchemy has yet to be proven.

  • did you guys even hear him, he said that it wasn't defined by the lead to gold transmutation, like defining christianity by their crackers.

  • this guy didnt create the damn definition either you fucking sap

  • thats catholics

  • It's been compared to how far along we were with computers in the 50's. All in all i believe that we as the public could hav access to this technology within the next 30 years. And apart from the alchemy aspect we sould see something closely resembling Ed's arm in the next 2 years, nerve attachments and all!

  • Well, we are actually getting closer every day. We can already turn lead into gold, however, the cost of the energy needed to complete the prosses far outways the cost of the gold produced. To overcome this obstacle scientists hav now starting to implement nanotechnology in order to litterally rearange the atoms in an object in order to turn it into a new object. However, there is a catch here as well, this technology is extremely new.

  • I belive that alchemists set their goals a little to high for their time and when chemistry became a science chemists took the alchemist's ideas and principles but lessened their goals. I believe that with knew innovations in science such as nanotechnology we will one day be able to reach old goals and perhaps, one day, be able to live in a world close to that of FMA.

  • However, neither the gate nor tansmutation circles are real in the same way as in the show. The creators of FMA actualy got the idea for the transmutation circles from an old belief that god would see the alchemist's circles and allow them to carry out the actions indicated on them. This, of course, was a flase belief. Trust me on this i hav done ALOT of reaserch on these things. Now here is my take on wat alchemy was and its future.

  • ok now some of what im about to say has already been said throught the posts but im going to put it all here. The truth is that alchemy is both science and philosophy. Alchemy is one of the oldest sciences we know of and it had nothing to do with religion at its creation and should hav no place in it now. Concerning FMA, true alchemy is actually VERY closly related to the show only its wat alchemy would hav been had we not made the change to chemistry.

  • check out the alchemy-books website

  • Alchemy is not magic

  • This IS a fairly proper discussion of Alchemy. Alchemy was NOT simply about transmuting base metals into gold but it was in fact a method of manifesting spiritual ideals and personal growth. However, it is not entirely spiritual. The paramount phrase of alchemy is "that which is above is below, and that which is below is above." Essentially this means that just as you can transform your weakness into strength, you can also transform base metals into gold. They are inextricably one and the same.

  • thx for this video ,but ,hey how can u post this only on youtube? write a book ,why not?

  • thank you, this video is successful in its aim.

  • Wow, I cause I wanted to use the word grimoire in a song too bad I thought it was pronounced griMORE

but damn you made an awesome little series

    this is really interesing

    gave it an awesome

  • No, Alchemy can be both of Sciences and of Magic

  • dude is so wrong hes thinking of black magic

alcemy looks like magic but its not its sicens

    (srry for some spelling )

  • Bah! you know so little! if the International Alchemy Guild hears about this, and why would we be protochemists? chemists are meant to study matter we are trying to find general things and no we are not fucking looking for one thing! the thing we seek is our Opus Magnum, and by the way, you are REAL prestigious, i am humbled by your youtube videos....

  • ehn, wrong. Alchemy was an idea being that everything in the universe is made out of the same matter and, if you broke something down into this base matter, you could reconstruct it into something else. This "reverend" is making ties when there are none.

  • So is stuff consumed by the individual? also do Alchemists work with Lemurian crystals and such things? I'm so new to all this.

    Thanks

  • alchemy is a espiritual cience connected to the universe nature, it helps you to find your soul lisen it enrich it and be happy :)

  • i know what the stone is if ya wanna find it look in ancient china its easy to find

  • If all that alchemical work ever was was metaphor and philosophy and not laboratory work we would not have distilled ALcohol, ceramics, or any of Newton's personal discoveries in optics. Newton himself having been a laboratory alchemist.

Also your attempt to tie everything in to Modern Wicca lessens what little merit modern wicca has and cheapens the age old TRUE wisdom of ancient systems.

Either learn more or teach what you actually know and are hiding.

  • lol Yes. YouTube is a forum for forbidden, occult exploration...and unlawful reposting of music videos.

  • @disintigray

How about existing as both? Dear god you are a closed minded individual. If it 'ever' was a metaphor then we couldn't have made discoveries??? One of the most ignorant statements I've ever heard; Please bury your head in a hole.

  • He thinks alchemy is all metafores.I dont know much about alchemy but I do understand the different things alchemists tryed and are still trying to do.

  • i have study alchemy and this guy dose not know what he is talking about!

  • You guys are missing the point here... Alchemy is the combination of applied Chemistry and Philosophy. That is why there are a lot of alchemistic schools, Greek and Egyptians Alchemists used Uroboros as the base of their work; "Εν το παν" the beginning and the end, the reel of aeons, the belief that mind, body and spirit are yet to be conquered simulating a chemical process. After the barbarian roman invasion in Greece, hellenistic writings left to be safely kept by Arabs... and the story goes

  • No you miss the point, we know that, anyone knows that, that is just the basics of Alchemy, he had another whole point here, please go back and read

  • All Alchemy formulas are in a hard language to understand, the reason for this is to protect the secret art form the unworthy, what i tried to say is if we all know turning lead to gold was possible, there would be many searching for the secret, because of this gold would loose its value as it would be now a commun metal, when people belive its just a metaphor they loose interest and move to something else... foregive my english, I'm Italian.

  • well the creators of mangas uses knowledge in their subject ... like naruto uses the old ninja legends , full metal alchemist is an exaggeration of alchimy, the creator only add crazy things to the main idea of the show

  • Lead to Gold isn't a metaphor...it really works. I've helped several people make the stone and make gold. Anyone with an average I.Q. who goes to my website will see several ways of doing this.

  • Even if it is possible the great goal of alchemy is a spiritual one, is transformation, and not simply the production of material things. That is simply the lowest part of the process, the reflex of something higher, in the lower realm.

  • Yes I agree 100%. And as someone who has been taking the stone on a regular basis, I can say it does indeed make your mind extremely beautiful and creative. I can see visions for hours when listening to music, and I dream in REM all night with all 5 senses. What I call the 'quality of thought' is greatly improved.

  • To AlchemistShaman

"Lead to Gold isn't a metaphor...it really works. I've helped several people make the stone and make gold. Anyone with an average I.Q. who goes to my website will see several ways of doing this."

    Show it on youtube please.

  • Yeah, sure... I'll get right on that. So then gold will be worth nothing and nobody will be rich.

  • To AlchemistShaman

Keep in mind there are people who are wealthy without gold.

  • lol

  • Cant deliver?

  • @Jenfucius

If it does work, and you actually understand Alchemy, then you would see how it is also a metaphor T_T

  • A great true alchemyst said once, making the world believe that turning lead into metal is a self tranformation process of higher beeing; it has been the greetest sucess to protect the secrets of alchemy... think about it./.

  • Some pictures, photos, and paintings would make this video almost watchable. But why would someone want to watch a guy read about alchemy? I'm not trying to be jerk, it just seems very redundant to watch a video of someone reading. Here's my website with over 100 alchemy lab work photos Alchemy-Illuminated(.)com

  • It is wonderful to watch someone sitting talking about alchemy who knows what they are talking about and has kindly made the effort to make this video. Most people have no idea what true alchemy is - I am very grateful to him.

  • Yes I agree with all that, but it would be much nicer if some effort was made to add an alchemy painting or photo from time to time as he discusses each thought.

  • all that you can find on wikipedia, he's reading it all so i guess he's no expert as much as you and i can be...

  • i know know more about alchemy then alchemic circles.

    p.s. do aclhemic circles work?

  • now, that's what I call modesty...

  • Konten sie das bitte erklaren?

  • Alchemists created opuim

  • This is good, but it's all "spiritual alchemy". In other words, he seems to believe the mistaken idea that the physical operations are merely analogous to spiritual ones; that the operations have no meaning other than in their application to the alchemist, which is simply not true.

  • above is the spiritual below is the physical

  • there's SO much more to alchemy than that. Don't condescend people, especially when you don't know what you're talking about.

  • leave the guy alone. He knows what he's talking about.

  • What a nerd...

  • God forbid anyone does some research and says something that might hurt your little mind.

  • what the hell is he talking about? lol (randomly found this)

  • This guy's assertion that Alchemy was a form of spirituality is entirely fictional. His explanation of the mythical Philosopher's Stone that supposedly turned lead into gold, as really a metaphor for turning the "lead of the spirit" into the "gold of enlightenment" is entirely his own fanciful creation.

  • ok , what's the truth of the matter then.

  • it's both you wannabe. "as is above so is below" "the inferior mirrors the superior" The law of analogy.

  • Do you know all this from personal experience?!

  • this kind of transmutation you speak of is, in fact alchemy, but it is only a shadow of the hbighest form of alchemy, remember, that which is above, can be known by that which is below. as above, so below

  • yea, !fulcanelli

  • despite the fact that many alchemical texts describe many stages or processes , there are really only 2 processe, and these two do in fact occur at one and the same time. they are the dissolution and congealation.each of these 2 processes finds its source in each of the 2 opposites, what you refer to as the male and female. but in reality, these 2, the male and female are actually of one and the same origin and essence. so in a sense, each is acting upon itself, and is acted upon by itself.

  • Most Scientists dont use Alchemy well because there is now modern Chemistry, Modern Physics, Modern Medicine, etc...

  • the only alchemy i know is full metal achemist

  • everything is right. now i can tell my mom alchemy is a science and prove it!

  • He is very much right there. It is simple so.

  • I have handled the stone that flows like wax in the flame, remains in fusion indefinitely without loss of substance, and tinges all matter with its own self-perfecting nature. This secret is a Gift of God alone,

and cannot be learned or taught properly by mortal man. All metals are one in essence, and only differ in chemical purity and essential development.

  • Alchemy is NOTHING like wicca. Alchemy, unlike all other forms of "magick" has roots in physical science founded long before chemistry as we know it nowadays existed. The Philosopher's Stone is also known as the Tree of Life, the Sword Excalibur, the Phoenix, and by infinite other names.

However it is simply this: 1 in 3 and 3 in 1.

    Everything has roots in nature.

  • nice reply man :)

  • lol

  • ok really i didnt know alchemy had all to do with spirituallity, i thought it was more like chemistry

  • yeah exactly what I thought...

  • lol wow u no alot of stuff about alchemy, i no a little myself. and i have a question 2 ask u ( u might yell/ hate me for asking) but do u think that Alchemy haas ANYTHING to do with Full Metal Alchemist? reply back 2 me

  • No, it doesn't.

  • Well, kindof. In fullmetal alchemist it's supposed to be if alchemy evolved to where you can transmute mass into something else. But if you go to the library and get THE LURE AND ROMANCE OF ALCHEMY it will tell you more, including the supposed real ingredients to the philosophers stone.

  • The emerald tablet and corpus hermeticum of Thoth are very old. Perhaps we could consider what else was taught and learned in an era where batteries and gunpowder existed as trinkets, and gold spires were still used as literal and symbolic reflections of Sol.

  • I agree, this woulld have been better as a short essay but perhaps a new person may be elightened by this.

  • Wicca didn't take anything from alchemy, they have related history in ceremonial magickal sources, hermetic texts, etc.

  • wicca, as you know it, is a mere child, recently born. alchemy is very old,you can fool yourself into blieving that wicca spawned alchemy, but anyone who reads more than the sundaypaper comics knows better,

  • OKOKOK NICE FRIGIN ALCHEMY IS FOR EVEIL ASS HOLES! smile your on camera!

  • What??

  • Alchemy was and is the basis of chemistry although it has been mislabeled for centuries. I am a muslim egyptian-american college educated chemist and alchemist. For those of you who dont believe in a balance in nature, "the duality" do some research on the subject. What is the first chapter of every college level chemistry text book? Here is a hint... ALCHEMY

  • It has nothing to do with the anime, people have been looking to Alchemy for spiritual and magical purposes for hundreds of years. Alchemy was science before religion and science were separate, that is why there are spiritual aspects to it.

  • Comment removed

  • No, in alchemy a spiritual state needed to be reached in order for the "duality", not only in spirit and in nature to coinside but for the mental and physical state of a mortal, to exist. Being spiritually devout to alchemy and beliving that there is no limitations was one thing that an alchemist truely need to have..... (long boring explination here)... but it wasn't just a cover to salvage from being burned at the stake

  • lol nice analogy ^_^

  • Get over yourself and just enjoy the show. FMA rules, but clearly it's not meant to be an accurate portrayal of alchemy. If you watched the show you would know why he could just clap his hands and not use a gram anyway. Besides, unless you're all jonesing for obscurity, FMA will interest a lot of people to look at real alchemy. Well, I'm off to take my State Alchemy exam. Wish me luck.

  • There many things that happen in alchemy which make no sense chemically. For instance, the wet path for making the stone involves simply digesting animtony ore and iron in sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid for many months. And yet chemically this should do nothing, yet the end product cures all disease and transmutes the metals. (process is on my website)

  • interesting yo
