  • there are pieces cut out!

    listen to details!

  • I follow the zeitgeist, but this speech has been faked by removing important pieces, and this is a shame.

Actually, JFK was refering to his vision of the soviet union(the enemy) and asking for the press to be more "secretive" for national security, please listen to

the full speech: search for: jfk address before american

  • @arturl I have listened to the full speech and I think ur WRONG!!

  • @POPSmaroon

Really? do it again. "But I do ask every publisher, every editor, and every newsman in the nation to reexamine his own standards, and to recognize the nature of our country's peril. In time of war, the government and the press have customarily joined in an effort based largely on self-discipline, to prevent unauthorized disclosures to the ENEMY. In time of "clear and present danger,"" ENEMY --> Soviet Union. It`s very clear.

  • @arturl

why would he say secret societies if he is talking about the press? it seems very out of context to be talking about " Political, Social, Economic control ETC. "

maybe the press should be more secretive to expose the truth. have you watched the news today? cable news that is.... " here read these cards "

imagine a world without the internet.

  • @Maziyar You don't need to ask me, just read the complete version of the speech and you'll see that its about the news. The speech is available on the net, just google it: "jfk address before american". Asking me why, means that you don't even read the full speech, because its very clear what he was talking about. Please, read it.

  • @arturl

well come on. the speech itself talks about the russians but the metaphor it creates speaks volumes to us today. there is a growing concern among people that government is broken. if we're playing the google game look up Meg Whitman.

100 million dollars spent to become governor.

" mmm i want that seat. My starting bid is 20 million. what say you? "

and this is the system we participate in?

  • @Maziyar This doesn't mean its valid to distort, cut into pieces what someone said to make it look different on a movie or documentary. I agree with the metaphor, but there is a big difference between a metaphor and faking the real meaning of a speech.

  • @arturl

    watch?v=tNgYIjjyeEE

    fast forward to 2:40

does that sound out of context?
