I heard in Sydney there are heaps of unused tunnels (I think the one at 1:50 is an unused tunnel at Wynyard). Would be great to lead them somewhere instead of squashing 100 people in a carriage during the afternnons. Fken Iemma was going to do something about em but he did jack shit, typical Labour. Would be pretty cool to explore em I rekon for lost shit.
Fantastic Cab view - sat on the inside many times - would love to able to see it like that one day. The clarity / light inside the tunnel was excellent and you certainly picked the right speed to make it interesting. TD
@eshrecords the tunnel to the right is the track leading to the next platform at the point 1:50. Thats because there are two trackes in the tunnel between circular quay and wynard
fantastic video mate! sydney underground is the most exciting place in sydney! and this video is a perfect visualisation of what a run round the loop looks like. any faster would've been annoying, slower would've been boring. you got it just right! congrats, and thanks
it's the caged entrance to one of the disused underground tunnels. only 1/3 of the tunnel system is actually active, the other two thirds is the biggest playground sydney has to offer, but nobody knows about. mainly uses as bomb shelters in world war two, but originally designed for a significantly larger rail network. back around 1900, engineers had great foresight and knew what infrastructure a growing city would need. shame todays governments have no such foresight, and only close rain routes
Not quite correct. While it's true that only a small part of Bradfield's vision was built, of what actually **IS** there, the majority of it is in use. There are only a few unused tunnel stubs of short length around the eastern side of the City Circle. These typically go a few metres and stop dead.

@123yessure I've never thought of it as rail-porn.... But considering that people call a lot of cooking shows food-porn, then you may be right!!! :-)
