In Brian's "Classic" (as you refer to this), there would be an outstanding "Classic" preceeding "In My Room" That would be "The Lonely Sea" from "The Surfin' U.S.A." album...IMHO!

@Steff8000 In this era, a lot of performers did songs in other languages (check Eydie Gorme & Steve Lawrence and Connie Francis (USA), Francoise Hardy (FR), Petula Clark (UK)... even the Beatles. I think it was a diplomatic gesture, and it helped sales in other countries. A little more friendly than aping the gangster rappers of another culture...

Roughly I would say yes it is. The main difference is the title in German "ganz allein" which means "all alone" in English.

liebe rebecca, fürs Hochladen hast Du Dir 5 Sterne durchaus verdient. Die Beach Boys haben sich - wenn man bedenkt, wie schwer die deutsche Sprache zu erlernen ist - bei der deutschen Version des wirklich wunderschönen "In my room" sehr gut geschlagen. Wirklich schöne Fassung, zumal es weitaus schlechtere deutsche Texte zu internationalen Originalen gibt.
