I love Heart. Their hits were constantly on the radio during my late teens, and again during the mid-80s. Ann's voice is showing some wear here; she doesn't sustain the highest notes as she used to. But there's still a ton of power in that larynx:). And I don't give a rat's rear end about her weight. Whether lean or large, she's a great R&R singer:) --

If you pay attention they pick up the pace as they go. Its one of those pieces that you have to be careful with tempo-wise or it'll run away with you. I think thats what happened on the brigade version. Its a little easier to speed everyone up than it is to slow everyone down. If you come out of the gate at breakneck speed, it makes for a loooong song and lots of mistakes.

most recent (last few years) clips of heart on you tube are pretty damn good- and they do a great (better than this) version of this song on the "ellen" show- but I think this version is sluggish. it seems 20 bpm slower than the original recorded version. don't get me wrong- it's good and ann sounds great as always, but this version is a bit anemic.
