I love this. The two of them are such incredible actors. I love both of them in anything that they do. That scene in the shield killed me. It was very dificult to watch and after hearing that it was hard for them too...that just makes it a little less insane

I am also a HUGE fan of the show, but I have to say that the failure of the team rest on Vic's shoulders. He was the leader and the voice of the team. They all looked to him for guidance. Shane wanted to be like Vic - which is why he killed Lem, as Vic killed Terry Crowley-- for the better good of the team. Vic's was justified, but Shane's actions towards Lem wasn't. Lem was a loyal member of the team.

That manipulative, lying piece of shit Cavenaugh caused Lem's death by making the rest of the team think Lem was going to roll. Shane did what he thought he had to do to save the rest of the team. You could tell that Shane was tortured by his decision.

i think that shane was way to much of a "bad guy" his decision to kill lem wasnt easily made and it was in the best interest of the team as messed up as it sounds, vic was portrayed as a hero which was hipocritical for the writers to do and i think the show would have been better if they told more of shanes parrt of the story

Aceveda was the one who lied to Vic about it, but Kavanaugh was the one who got the ball rolling in Shane's head. Kavanaugh was not the righteous man a lot of people think he was in the show. He was a disturbed nut who got into a testosterone match with Vic (Vic won) and didn't give a shit who got hurt. When he sees that Lem is dead he looks almost satisfied that he's fucked the team up.

remember that rowling was the one who called in IAD in the first place in season 4 and then the undercover IAD guy finds out that amolia saw lem take patarios heroin then kavanaugh shows up the next season and the shit storm starts

@hopkins4545 I agree with you. The Police Chief should have shut down the investigation as soon as he realised Kavanaugh was the bent twisted agenda pushing arsehole!! Another reason people forget is that IAD was only brought in to investigate Lem over the Drugs, Kavanaugh took the investigation In a direction to hit Vic instead of concluding Lem!!!! Kavanaugh tried to frame Vic for Lem's death in the end we saw his true colours!!

They are talking in Purgatory - Lem couldn't ascend (as in Corrine's dream) 'til there was justice for his killer.

In death Lem has a wider view of all the lies, manipulations, & poor decisions that stem therefrom, and thus has mercy for Shane. Part of Heaven is you get what you want, so Lem's gonna argue for Shane to get another go round on Earth to try to be less of a fuckup.

Actually Lem is going back for another round too, because Heaven is super boring...
