He's very underrated, but he also doesn't go and pose half-naked and sell himself like a lot of people. I think age is definitely a big factor, though I think maturing also changed his vocals. He's got a beautiful voice nonetheless. I actually think if 'I'm Not Sleeping Alone' was released cleaned up and album worthy, that'd be his best vocal performance.
His voice is still beautiful, but on the rock songs I think the beats take away from his vocals. Too much noice and not enough clarity in his voice... he sometimes screams the lyrics out. Notice on his R&B/Soul tracks, his vocals are much better. I think he's more suited for soul music like this... he STILL sings like this (Dear Goodbye, Right Here By Your Side-- he had a cold-- and on Lose Myself). I wish he did less rock and more pop/soul/R&B. His voice is so intense no screaming needed.

I would love to see him cover a Boyz II Men classic. Obviously, it'd be just him and not a full-on harmony with other voices to back him up, but I can see him singing 'End of the Road' (as he did on the MMC) now. It'd be amazing. I vote for 'On Bended Knee', too.
Again... I think JC's voice is more suited for that style of music. I always thought he had the most soulful voice and his way of singing was reminiscant of a Boyz II Men member. JT knew his strengths... it was urban/soul. I think JC should've gone this pattern, too. Jive was right to push him into that, but JC wanted to be different. I admire him for that and resent him for it because it's why Jive didn't push his album more because they wanted him w/ Neptunes/Timbs & he didn't want 2 clone JT
He's a ballad singer. Any ballad, any mid-to-slow tempo song, he takes control of it completely. He most definitely should focus on those types of songs, but he does go with the songs that drown his voice out a bit. But if he didn't have them, then I'd miss his energy on stage, haha
Man, his ballads... talk about POWERFUL vocals. He's amazing on the slow jams. I love Give In To Me, Sailing (the song that made me obsessed with his voice LOL), God Must Have Spent, I'll Be Good 4 U, That's When I'll Stop, Best of my Life, This I Promise You (AMAZING), Everything I Own, 4 the Girl, I Believe In You, etc. I think the rockish songs, with the guitars and drums is "too loud" for his vocals. NOTHING should detract from those vocals. He needs a softer beat to make his voice stand out

Like on Blaque's Bring it all to me , when i tell them it's him singing the guys part, they are shocked. They didn't really know. I love how his voice complements the song not take away from it or make you want to turn it off. He doesn't need a lot of flash, gimmicks, or has to sing the latest mainstream stuff to prove he has skill.

JC is so underrated. He was the best singer in Nsync. The only reason he's not as as successful as Justin, is cuz he doesn't have Justin's flavour, he's not as young and wen he dances he's stiff and justin fits in with the hip hop crowd. Jc's just too oldskool

I don't think he's stiff at all with his dancing. He's just got a different style than Justin has, he's even said that. He's very underrated, but he also doesn't go and pose half-naked and sell himself like a lot of people. That's nothing against Justin because it works for him, but I really can't see JC doing something like that. The only thing he sells is his voice. I don't think he really cares to have the fame, just that he can still do it as long as he wants.

i really wonder what happened to his voice, its not the same as before if you listen to "you ruined me" (his current song on his new album) maybe because hes older now, its been 10 years since his voice was really beautiful like on nsync no strings attatched album.. maybe its the beat on his songs now i dont know but i like his old voice better, during nsync time

I think age is definitely a big factor, though I think maturing also changed his vocals. He's got a beautiful voice nonetheless. I actually think if 'I'm Not Sleeping Alone' was released cleaned up and album worthy, that'd be his best vocal performance.

His voice is still beautiful, but on the rock songs I think the beats take away from his vocals. Too much noice and not enough clarity in his voice... he sometimes screams the lyrics out. Notice on his R&B/Soul tracks, his vocals are much better. I think he's more suited for soul music like this... he STILL sings like this (Dear Goodbye, Right Here By Your Side-- he had a cold-- and on Lose Myself). I wish he did less rock and more pop/soul/R&B. His voice is so intense no screaming needed.

i love jc's music and his amazing voice. also his style of music its his own thing even though his first cd at first didn't enjoy hearing it cuz it was talking about sex and enjoys having it....well i really think that he should of talk about the special someone personality and not about the only thing she's good is sex well i think that hes second cd would be way better than the first cd..=)

I would love to see him cover a Boyz II Men classic. Obviously, it'd be just him and not a full-on harmony with other voices to back him up, but I can see him singing 'End of the Road' (as he did on the MMC) now. It'd be amazing. I vote for 'On Bended Knee', too.

Again... I think JC's voice is more suited for that style of music. I always thought he had the most soulful voice and his way of singing was reminiscant of a Boyz II Men member. JT knew his strengths... it was urban/soul. I think JC should've gone this pattern, too. Jive was right to push him into that, but JC wanted to be different. I admire him for that and resent him for it because it's why Jive didn't push his album more because they wanted him w/ Neptunes/Timbs & he didn't want 2 clone JT

He's a ballad singer. Any ballad, any mid-to-slow tempo song, he takes control of it completely. He most definitely should focus on those types of songs, but he does go with the songs that drown his voice out a bit. But if he didn't have them, then I'd miss his energy on stage, haha

Man, his ballads... talk about POWERFUL vocals. He's amazing on the slow jams. I love Give In To Me, Sailing (the song that made me obsessed with his voice LOL), God Must Have Spent, I'll Be Good 4 U, That's When I'll Stop, Best of my Life, This I Promise You (AMAZING), Everything I Own, 4 the Girl, I Believe In You, etc. I think the rockish songs, with the guitars and drums is "too loud" for his vocals. NOTHING should detract from those vocals. He needs a softer beat to make his voice stand out

I agree with you all ,also. JC 's different singing styles and sounds have fooled alot of people I know. Like on Blaque's Bring it all to me , when i tell them it's him singing the guys part, they are shocked. They didn't really know. I love how his voice complements the song not take away from it or make you want to turn it off. He doesn't need a lot of flash, gimmicks, or has to sing the latest mainstream stuff to prove he has skill.
