The Chevy dealer was at Oxnard street and VN blvd. It was PWR for years and now I think it keys. I cruised it in the 60's, from Bob's on Sepulveda in MIssion Hills to the AW on Ventura Blvd

In May of 1966 we moved to California. I was 17 1/2. We lived in Sherman Oaks. It didn't take long for me to discover Van Nuys Blvd. My first hot rod - a 1969 Chevelle SS Rat 396, 425 HP, 4 spd (of course), next - 1969 Camaro SS blueprinted Rat 396, 425 HP, 4 spd, Thorley headers w/4:33's in the rear end, last -1970 silver Corvette 454 4spd w/aluminum heads, lake pipes & Thorleys. As a member of Chevy's Inc. I raced my cars at Irwindale - turned some 12's. Best of all....I'm a girl!

Great cruise. The cars are just awsome! Really liked the GTX at the 1:40 mark. Reminded me of my 68 Hemi GTX ragtop. Yea I sold it many moons ago.

Now that was bitchin. It used to be like that on the weekends here in downtown Phoenix, but that died off in the late 80's due to gangs having shootouts with each other, etc. Police I remember limited the number of times you could pass spot within a given time frame, and good cruizin pretty much died.

This is awesome though. I might have to build another car and move over there. Loved all the beautiful and sometimes quite rare muscle. Amazing, didn't know this was still taking place........
