  • I wonder if people in the 50s bitched about color films the same way today's people bitch about 3D films and CGI.

  • 73 years later, im betting none of the cast, writers or anyone would have thought that there production would go down in history.

  • @dreamy839 This movie & "Gone With The Wind" were both released in 1939 & their success was questionable at the time. Two of most enjoyed & viewed films in American cinematography.

  • @TheFantasyCentral Do they have deleted scenes in this movie?

  • @TheFantasyCentral Does Miss Gulch got killed by Dorothy with bucket of water at the end of the movie?

  • This is one of the best movies ever made.

  • lol but she was really high as a kite in 90% of her scenes

  • I actually love watching this movie mostly during Christmas for some reason, perhaps it's the "There's no place like home" thing.

  • For 1939, this movie has AMAZING special effects. The flying house, the talking trees, and the witch melting are simply remarkable. And to think, they did it all without the CGI shit(pardon my french) that are overused in movies today.

  • A woman's favourite song was Somewhere Over the Rainbow and she requested that it be played at her funeral. When she died, it was arranged for it to be played. Unfortunately, someone pressed the wrong button. Imagine the mourners' shock when Ding Dong the Witch Is Dead began to play instead.

  • @ToujoursLaMusique OH NOOO!!!!

  • such nutty narration for the ad, as though it's for a newsreel re nazi germany, or narration for GRAPES OF WRATH; not exactly light hearted narration; a lot closer to walter cronkite than walt disney.

  • @monk22yrs lol i know. it's so odd how speech patterns evolve over time.

  • i've got an audition for the part of dorothy at my drama club this thursday!!! SO excited but nervous-luvv the movie!!!

  • Why do people find the movie to be better than the book when the book is clearly superior?
