Yes you can use Logic on a mac and i think Logic Pro 9 is $499.00.

Also Garageband is used for beginners Logic Pro is a lot better.

If you are starting with making music you should start off with Garageband and learn the basics and once you think you can go up a level move on to Logic Pro.

Garageband is already on the Imac but you will have to buy the loop packs..correct me anyone if I'm wrong.
