@PlanetVampiredotcom sorry, didn't notice your post at this time....and yes, they broke up to go seperate ways, which all suck now...sad to say but it's true...
Need of love is a hell of a drug. One i have not kicked yet. Heard this song for the first time in the late 90's. Still would do anything to get that feeling.
you know im sitting here watching this song and there is an advertisment for rihanna for the background. like she could ever compare to a great 90's artist! she doesnt deserve to be on the same page!
@squall412 The point of the 90's was to not give a shit about what people think and to not be effected by people's crap. Rihanna has worked her ass off in the industry and her music is no less valid to her fans than Stabing Westward's music is to theirs.
@SinSchism thats cute you think rihanna works hard. i would count it as work if every singer in this generation didnt use voice alterations to sound better. i guess i just miss when music was played true.
Actually in the '90s, these guys were pretty popular. They released 5 albums and then in 2002 they broke up. As far as the "NIN Rip-off" thing goes, industrial was just a popular genre then. Stabbing Westward wasn't the only band to have a sound like that.
@Dart572 No they broke up and all went on to other projects. You can check Wikipedia or even the SW website and they both list the numerous other projects the members are all busy with.
@TheLetterZach technically a variety of the songs put out by them was written by their drummer which was the drummer/writer for NIN and "exotic birds"(NIN before Reznor realized he was cool and can play a keyboard). THIS song its self was an "exotic birds" song. so basically this is a NIN song.....so NAH, they didn't "rip-off" NIN, they just borrowed the drummer/writer....lol
@AESTH3TICSOFHATE Stabbing Westward had been together for about ten years prior to Andy coming on. They also made a name for themselves before Andy came on...most notably, Violent Mood Swings among others.
@ldstultz not contesting that, but THIS song, among a few of their MOST notable songs were written by him....google it....lol. just trying to let people saying that SW is a rip-off, or comparing to NIN....let them know there is a reason behind that...
@AESTH3TICSOFHATE Andy K. was a drummer for NIN on exactly one song ever. He was never a member of NIN at all. However, the drummer for the original SW demos that landed their record deal (Chris Vrenna) LATER became a member of NIN. So if you really think about it, NIN took SW's drummer, not the other way around.
@depmode26 Oh yeah it was 4. I dunno why I was thinking 5. Just a correction though, they are LPs not EPs. An LP is a full album, EPs are like a demo with usually 4 or 5 tracks.
@TheLetterZach Stabbing Westward was extremely popular back in the day....they,along with N.I.N were just 2 of many great "Industrial" groups from the USA alone...It's still a growing genre.
@TheLetterZach Nin openly states that they are not the creators or representatives of any so called Industrial anything. They made music. some bands sounded similar. history repeats itself.. thats why we have tours.. I.E. Warped tour.. same genres for the most part with some seasoning.. Bonnaroo,,, Family Values, Sick And Twisted, Snow Core, Ozzfest.. they all had similar listener bases... of course there are genres.. you can;t single out a band becaue of their influence..
I still don't understand how these guys are a nine inch nails ripoff. Stuff like Ministry, Skinny Puppy, even Gary Numan outdated Trent. Fuck, even David Bowie.
@StretchDouche I agree. It amazes me when people say that. Trent even admitted to "borrowing" a lot of his sound from SP. The sound just changes, evolves and meshes with each artist.
People are just arrogent that way I guess. As if anything if pure originality when you dive deep into. As long as the artist is passionate about it I don't see a problem. Just don't be like coldplay.
tripped on Acid in my room for the first time and this was on repeat. It made me make art with blood from guitar string cuts.......and no, I never became a rock star. Damn LSD.
I always loved them. I was fortunate to see them live in Houston during late 90's, early 2000's... also saw Filter, Gravity Kills, Kings X and NIN. Love Industrial!!!!!!!
the fcc is brainwashing kids these days... this era was right before they started putting parental advisory labels on th records so if you were under a certain age you cuouldnt buy the cd... and now we got justin beiber as artist of the year? wtf is really going on yall?

80's and 90's music FUCKING ruled!!!!!These guys should have been bigger, they just didn't fit into the NIN mold, and didn't really fit any others.I suppose they were kind of on their own.I guess that's why they didn't last, because the record company didn't support them enough.Just my observation,BTW,I love NIN.
@ghostscantkill they had some pretty good success man, a lot of their stuff ended up on tv and in huge movies.. now how many fans they attracted in the process could be another story.. songs like these are jems just waiting to be rediscovered..
Had my first kiss to this song.
