I live on the north side of Fairbanks, Alaska. . . Snow starts in October and doesn't stop until April or May, and the temperatures has been as cold ( -50F ) and Colder at times, doesn't mean its cold year around even we get temps in the 80s and seldomly in the 90s around here too, i would melt in the heat that southern California produces. . . But if you want to know what true cold and snow is all about, spend a winter here in Fairbanks. . .

I don't get what the hype about snow in LA is. It's not that rare. We got some of that too! I live just below Big Bear City, not up there but the city just below that. (1,200ft high) And we get that quite often! =)

Wow!!! My co-worker who lives in Lancaster had to leave work at 8 A.M. to TRY to get on the 14 before it closed. They got stuck and ended up having to take the Metrolink over the pass and home; I saw on the news that alot of people were in the same predicament! Thanks for posting!
