Question: is the reason you make small talk for a while there because of the idea that the conscious mind can only handle 7 pieces of information at a time, and you're kind of pushing "your hands are glued together" into the subconscious before you ask them to try to separate? I know this is old and you probably won't answer, but I'm curious ...
I admire your technique, and am in awe of your fearlessness in trying things like this with your friends, in public and on video. That's probably why you're so good, your willingness to practice and try things out. But..."direct communication to the subconscious" is about the least scientific description I could imagine. Hypnotists without a background in psych. or science throw phrases like this around all the time despite the fact that there's no scientific support for anything like that.

Waking hypnosis is hypnotizing someone without the actual induction...in the scientific description it is direct communication to the subconsciou without having to relax your curious mind. :P PM me if you have any more questions! :)

Actually, the strong minded are easier to hypnotize...if they want to be hypnotized.
This effect was actually used on me and worked very well.

I have hypnotized tyler before, but with something totally different. This was waking hypnosis. :)
