  • i think we should all start to try to show an effort to pick up the trash in detroit. protests make a statement but i think that showing some effort and real concern for the city by cleaning it up as much as we can would make a much deeper impact .

  • @deanmartin22000 Hi! Diara here. What you may not realize is that protests are multifaceted. While it may seem to some, I imagine, is that it is just a bunch of people standing around with signs amplifying their concerns. It is actually much greater than that. The protest facet is used to spawn awareness and interest. Once that interest is there, people come and get involved. The rest that goes on is outreach and hands-on action like you speak of to address the issues that are at the forefront.
