  • Natalie Maines will be back on TV soon. She's the new spokesperson for Instavac, the leading manufacturer of liposuction units. Her contract includes all the liposuction she can handle, valued at "more than 2 million based on present body fat content" according to an Instavac exec. She will be introducing the new models that include adapters for gerbil removal, a big seller in her new home state of California.

  • @Therealmensa Wow! Thanks for the info! Unfortunately, I harbor this strange tendency to judge people only after I've actually met them and gotten to know them so I can't immediately praise you as the highly clever, intellectual, and charming person that you undoubtedly are, but I can only assume by your consistency on the chicks' pages that you are a die-hard Dixie Chicks fan and that alone is a good enough testament to your high moral character for me!

  • It ain't right till it's right,This is right!Thanks

  • Emily is one of the best musicians I have ever heard - her slide work is incredible in this song - how many instruments does she play anyway - dobor, guitar, mandolin, banjo - the Chicks rule !

  • Saw on the tele discussion: People have 2 jobs - the one they do for a living and music critic.

  • Vocals are way overdone. Ugh. It's a hard thang do a Bonnie song justice. Natalie shouldn't have tried.

  • @angelinespilates Naa - not for a live show. She didn't try - she knocked it out of the park.

  • @Sointula2 Listened to it a second time. Same verdict, Entire thing forced including ridiculous forced growl. Trying waaaaaay too hard. Yuck, Natalie. Not the least bit sexy. Bonnie's version oozes sex. Listen to the incredible difference.

  • @MrDz264 Fair evaluation - and clearly she doesn't approach it like Raitt does. Different vibe altogether. Bonnie's got the other covered very nicely and this is how Dixie Chicks do it.

On the tele website is a signature of someone; says; 'everyone has 2 jobs - whatever they do for a living and music critic. Ha ha. These guys pull it off, but like you I prefer Bonnie Raitt version.

  • Vocals are way overdone. Ugh. It's a hard thang do a Bonnie song justice. Natalie shouldn't have tried.

  • Awesome! The vocals are incredible, and I love the fiddle and dobro solos. They're such incredible musicians. I love how they can do country, pop, rock, and blues....with mostly banjos and fiddles, although they seem to play every instrument known to man. That's talent right there. Hope they record another album soon.

  • @laurieheartsdcx

I sure hope so to - these ladies can sing and play anything . Martie and Emily are two of the finest ulti-insutrumentalists today - super skills and I am a real fan of Natalie's powerhouse voice .

I sure hope the Court yard Hounds are not a replacement for the Dixie Chicks because they are irreplaceable .

  • Amazinggg

  • Yeah well WHERE THE HELL IS RAY BENSON ON YOU PROFILE!?!?!?

  • Bellissimo! Come si chiama lo strumento a 4:16?

  • @Lauterstein In americano è chiamato Lap Pedal Steel ed è giocato dal papà di Natalie, Lloyd Maines!

  • I know this is a country song, but Natalie gives off a bit of a blues vibe in some places. She could kill singing the blues!

There is nothing this woman couldn't sing.

  • @BrownMBA - This is not a country song. Bonnie Raitt is not a country artist. She is a blues artist. A lot of people think she's country , I think because they hear a slide guitar and automatically think country, and also because she had some crossover success, especially with the Nick of Time album, but believe me, she is blues

  • @smo1001 Bonnie Raitt made it famous, but it was written by her friend Chris Smither, who can best be categorized as a folk singer. He does some blues also, but let's stop the genre pigeon holing. Western swing is a sub-genre of country, and it's very similar to blues.

  • Her voice is amazing, so variable! Nat rocks!

  • OMG, Natalie Natalie Natalie what a damn voice!!

    Vote Natalie For President.

  • Wow 5 * ---- EOM

  • They are just amazing! :)))

  • They rock!!!!! the song is amazing, especially this version

  • Amazing voice Natalie!

  • the violin solo at 2:22 is spot i love the dixie chicks

  • I love natalies and marties little dance at 3:39!

great performance! I love natalie at that time!

  • she killed it! amazing!!!! <3

  • WOW! The Chicks rule!

  • That blew my mind!!! Totally raw, totally amazing, sexy cover tune!!! Love it!!

  • WOW!!!! Love the Chicks!!!

  • wow anyone who boycots this is thoughtless!

  • the same folks who boycott the Dixie Chicks also believe the earth is 6000 years old and global warming is a myth. Whatever. It's still, against all odds, a free country, thank God. Listen, or don't. Your call.

  • I agree totally. I never could figure out why everyone got so mad just because a woman had an opinion about politics. Bono left the country because he hated Bush. Or at least threatned to. None of his fans got mad.

  • finally someone who knows something sensible to say...

ppfff that took long to find... thanx!

  • thanks, kind sir. I must admit that when I first hear of the Dixie Chicks and saw their picture, I thought they were typical Nashville shallow eye candy. Boy was I wrong. They can play and sing with the best of 'em, and one of the few "real" acts in modern day country. You go, girls!

  • yep it's even stronger: the can sing AND are eye candy aren't they?

oh and eehhmmm ... I'm not a "sir".. .Im a "lady"... hihi thought let's put that straight.. .;) 'but that's ok!

my username looks apparently like a dudes name, well it's not, it's the name of my dogs... ;)

  • Pardon me, ma"am. I'm in two bands, one kinda bluegrass country, the other kinda rock blues jazz. the latter group has three lady singers who can bring it, so I love this stuff. And dogs- especially retrievers, but I'm flexible. Sorry to have made the wrong assumption.

  • hihi it's ok! cool, bluegrass is so rock! I was in a band as well, loved it! but had to leave because of physical and let's say emotional problems: rotten! We played punk/rock and occasionally if I could push it thru (haha) some oldies (70's).. the bandchief last said: Jess, PLEASE come back, I'll EVEN do the Dixie Chicks... hahaha! even? like they're crap, you blew it there mate... hahaha! ;)

my dogs are a border collie & a autralian cattle dog, so cool lot! ;)

  • Wow. Our oldest daughter, now 37, was in a punk band a while. I've been a musician off and on, for 45 years. i should be old enough to know better. Not. And Aussie dogs are the smartest animals on four feet I've ever seen. When we lived in Wyo. there was a guy who'd come to the rodeo and have his dog make the sheep dance. Scary smart. music styles, I'm with Duke Ellington: there are two kinds of music: good and bad. The Chicks are way good. Best country band i ever saw was with Emmylou, 1988.

  • hihi I'm 32 now. and even young (and I like to believe I'm still that haha) same here: you never know better ;) Yep, they're are so cool, both of them are! The Border is more like: what else do you want me to do for you? While the Australian is more like: allright, what trick could I pull off now haha! Dogs with humor! FUN!

Have a VERY broad music taste! Example: LOVE!! Beastie Boys, but also Sheryl Crow, Blink 182 (ofcourse), Annie Lennox etc... loads! even K.Clarkson! wow... hahaha hmmm ;)

  • @slownoman. So funny! I thought exactly the same thing until I saw them at the 2004 Vote for Change concert. I was floored -- I thought, "Who the hell is that?!!!" OMG! The Dixie Chicks?!"" lol

Natalie's voice just sucks you right in and the sisters are awesome musicians.

  • takes one helluva chick to hang with Bonnie Raitt, but these Chicks did it, big time.

  • @slownoman you hit the nail on the head! Awesome!!

  • BEST!!!!!!

  • genial!! gracias, sergio!

  • I always rock out at Emily's solo. Probably why I spent a long time tabbing it out.

Only Bad-ass dobro players headbang while playing. Emily is one b-a chick. i LOVE her.

  • wow you tabbed it out?? you're a pro!!

  • At 00:52-53 second her face is like so cool when she sings.

  • that is because her face IS cool, even if she doesn't sing... =)

  • So tru! I LOVE the chicks...

  • Nvr heard her voice like this woah.!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Chego ate a suspirar qd vejo a Martie Tocando!!!Lindasssssssss!!!

  • YEEEEEAAAAAH... que bueeeeeno... me encanta

  • fantastic!!!dixie chicks forever!!!

  • Wow. They're even better than before! I'm really glad things are starting to patch up for them. Best song!

  • I love the chicks but Natalies voice is exceptional!!!

  • Awesome, as usual coming from the Chicks.

  • her voice so AMAZING

  • Thanks for uploading!! I've always wanted to see this video! =)

She's got a hell of a voice. It can't get any better...

  • A hell of a voice for a hell of a girl. Very great!! Ciao from Pisa, Italy

  • She is indeed!

And lets not forget Martie and Emily in here, I'm alway stunned by their performance! I think this video shows them at their best when it comes to playing the fiddle and dobro.
