I want to THANK YOU for this video! LOVE-IT! The reason is because it's all from the "original" show filmed in Georgia. From the 6th episode on the show SUCKED in my opinion. Imagine how great the show could have been had they left it in Georgia and didn't mess with the story-line/plot??

Yes both had some success on the country charts back in the 80's. Tom Wopat still puts out albums from time to time that are really good. Tom went on to have a great career on Broadway and John has been on a few hit shows and is doing well.

The cameras were mounted outside the cars so it seemed like they were actually driving(no projection screen) the characters were not so cartoonish( I hated how much they dummed down Rosco) and that first season every episode was different, not the"How do we frame the Duke Boys this week" which it was it became.

That's a very persistent myth, but the truth is that Barris was not the creator of the General Lee, although he did build replicas of it later. The early Georgia episode cars were built by Don Schisler, but I'm not sure if anyone knows who originally designed the General.
