What seperates Immortal from any other black metal band, is that your typical black metal band is obsessed with passing themselves off as satanist or anti-christian pagans that just overdo their image in order to maintain their fans. Immortal on the other hand keeps religon out of their music and sings about, battles, winter, and their own mythology (Blashyrkh). And they're good at what they do and enjoy it. Thats why immortal is the best BM band ever.

Well this is not relly my style but I hear it sometimes and its not all the same dude. Some BM is more technical like this, not for everyone, some is more riff based (Darkthrone's Under a Funeral Moon Album), others are more melodic (Check out Abigor's song Dornen, or less traditional Black Metal Dimmu Borgir's Enthrone Darkness album), others more emotional (Depressive BM, etc)

Actually, once you master the technique that is called 'blasting' it's rather simple.. I'm a drummer myself and I haven't caught it a 100% yet but it's it's only insane and extremely tiring if you're doing it wrong... basically it's a basic beat, but just really fucking fast :p nonetheless, respect to all fellow drummers who are able to do it tho, I'll get there one day !
