Halo. A game with a fairly simple plot. But my god in heaven, they made that plot work like nothing before it. And the plot twist of the Flood still makes me break out into a sweat whenever I play that level and KNOW, that when I enter that one room, I crack the seal of the Apocalypse.

Actually, I've played the final fantasy series... and the halo is pretty damned near on par when it comes to instrumental themes. It has good music in it. In all truth, I probably like the Halo theme more than I like most Final Fantasy main themes.

you're not missing out on much.

the video game industry has gotten so big, they put in a full orchestra in every game nowadays, so the little bleeps and bloops are almost non existent, so there really is no point to a vgl concert anymore. unless they just re-write the blips and bloops to orchestra.

There is a massive difference between the sound quality, atmosphere and experience hearing it live and through a studio recording, even if the studio recording is using an orchestra as well unless of course you have a very expensive and very good sound system but even then, noticeable to an actual live performance.

Don't tell me you don't go to gigs because the studio recording is the same or better than a live performance o_O

actually, i've been to two of them, i've been to video games live, and i've been to dear friends: music to final fantasy. dear friends was a better concert, i've never heard those songs other than the blips i used to hear, but then when i got there and heard the re-written music, it was beautiful.

then i went to vgl, and they played a bunch of generic orchestrated music for video games, i just wasnt excited about it at all. i thought they'd play more music that was re-written for orchestra, than pre-written for.
