  • Бездарный, распространённый и у азиатов, резиновый =фа цзинь=. Видимо они и не знают правильного и лучшего.

  • Dear Kam

I like the 'spring like' internal power of the release action As Lao Tzu said "The world is won by those who let go!

  • Very good stuff here! And anyone who say this can't hurt an opponent, better think again! You guys might wanna check out this example of a person using internal power to deliver knock out power from point blank range!:

  • I love the lame brained comment about MMA though...it's really sad that people measure true Arts by comparing them to a SPORT lol...I laugh at anyone who disgraces himself by giving MMA an ounce of respect....I don't respect MMA and I never will...it's brutal cock fighting and anyone with just a little experience in simple street fighting can be successful in the MMA...although it is fun to see these idiots give each other concussions hahaha

  • Argh i saw a lot of comments on here hardly anyone seems ot ha\/e a in depth comprehension of the way internal and internal/external power is created. Sadly man teachers BS their students like the beebo poster. The nasty one hit one kill (should u hit in torso or head) is generated on multiple le\/els, the combination of the following forces: There is the elastic tissue aspect, the "bone power" there is the integration of the entire body 2 function as a unit, the usage of what i would (cont')

  • I DO NOT care at all for the MMA stuff. Its all about the ego and not about real combat at all. There are rules and a ref. to pull your attacker off of you. In the traditional arts we train when it comes down to it we do not have the rules they do and we know how to finish the fight. the last thing I want to do is roll around on the ground and try to get and arm bar or choke.

  • looks cool but a good MMA guy would rip these guys in half very quickly!!!

  • With all due respect. There is no fajin being demonstrated in this video.

  • Very interesting bobain, you say

'the purpose of pengjin is not to throw or push your opponent with big movement'

You say what it is not.

What do you say, It is?

  • the purpose of pengjin is not to throw or push your opponent with big movement, worst he is using the other hand to exert force on his right Peng shou.

Peng and fajin are two related force.

if you know how to peng you will know how to "fajin" simple as that.

    just my one cent thought.

  • Hi bobain,

I've added my two cents, can you spare a dime?

    Awaiting your reply

  • Peng Jin is the 'Unseen Power' behind the technique

It utilises oncoming force or power.

When oncoming force is received the body acts like a powerfully coiled spring, which it absorbs (borrows) it is then returned (given back)

For a comparison or measure, take hydraulic fluid which is a liquid with no inherent strength of its own, however when compressed it becomes enormously strong

pump the brake pedal of a car rapidly to get the idea.

Better still I invite you to come and feel for yourself

  • Pied Piper

There are two demonstrations on the video.

The first is a demonstration of Fa Jin.

Which it states is an explosive release of power.

The second is a demonstration of Peng Jin.

Which it states is a spring like / elastic force.

You mix the two and say you would like to see the release of force impact something like a heavy bag

What is it that you want to measure?

The Release of Power which is Fa Jin or

The Elastic Force which is Peng Jin?

  • Would like to see "the release of force" impact something like a heavy bag. Humans, especially students, are easily hypnotized into participating in something quite absurd.

I don't mean to discredit the virtue of internal martial arts, or the delivery of force without excessive muscle strength, I just want an objective way to measure it.

  • Tai Chi IS Kung Fu...

  • An excellent video, demonstrating the internal power of Tai Chi

  • Dear FajinChi,

I don't see what's wrong for the guy in the chair who pushes the man off, do you think it's fake? Xing Yi Grandmaster Guan Yongnian from China also did a similar demo many years ago so I think that he demostrates a 'true skill'.

  • Dear FajingChi,

I've no doubt that Xing Yi is a fantastic kung-fu system! Xin(Xing)Yi Master, Wang Xiang Zhai, has incorporated the Tai Chi Push Hands Technique in his Xin Yi system, which he later developed as 'Yiquan'. Therefore I think your criticism of Tai Chi is very unreasonable. Also Fajin and Peng jin is 2 different issues all together, so please don't get confused!!!

  • I've learnt a lot from this video although I've been doing tai chi for 15 years. The explanation of Peng jin is really informative.

  • My knowledge of Tai Chi has been deepened by this school's previous demo and the explanation of Peng Jin.

Although the Fajin demo here is not as good as some of the top teachers in the world but it is of a very high standard (better than me)!

Thank you for sharing this video :-)

  • I am always amazed by the demonstration of power by the late great Grandmaster Cheng Man Ching so I wondered what kind of power that he used? When I asked my teacher regarding about this kind of power the answer I received was "as long as you practice the form and push hands softly, one day you will achieve it"

I then came across an article written by the late Grandmaster Hong Junshung's student from Australia regarding "Peng Jin" & it has opened a whole new world for me. I was enlightened!
