  • David the reason I don't Texas rig much is to get better hooksets. When fishing current you have a big bow in the line and as soon as I feel a bite I snap hookset

  • very true. great advice. it takes experience to be able to tell the difference in a rock/log and a bite. nothing but experience will help with that. I see that you dont texas rig your tube jigs. I do because that makes it weedless. Is there a reason you dont texas rig?

  • Chigger craws will work at times here. There really is no magic bullet. All lures are tools in your box , let the fish tell you what they want.

  • I fish the Susquehanna River all the time and have never really used a tube jig to get smallmouth. I tend to see it get snagged to many times. I use a spinnerbait a lot and catch good fish. I will try a tube bait. I just recently fished with one on a pond in Ohio and caught a nice 2lb Largemouth on it. It liked it so much it practically swallowed it half way down its gullet! For a 2lb fish it was long and big! Largemouth are really fun. Will the Berkley Chigger Craw work in the Susquehanna?

  • Nice job - Thanks!

  • nice upload, just got back from fishing the lehigh, open day of trout, must not be my game got skunked, i fish the susquehanna alot, sence i was old enough to walk, i use tubes alot and they are one of my favs , i walk out into some spots water up to my ribs and fish any currents and that works well usually, but i love fishing live bait in the river, pick clippers and crawfish, or just use worms, :D do u do tours or somthin?

  • Thanks,

I guide the river for Bass and Flathead Catfish. I really don't think there is a more simplistic way to bass fish than with a Tube Jig. They really an catch fish any time of the year. Sorry about your luck with the trout
