my processor sucks, just dual core 3.2ghz,but hav 3gb ddr2 ram,ATI Radeon x1550 512mb though not the best but enuf 4 me.But crappiest part is that i hav CRT Monitor coz i thot its beta i spend more money on pc specs upgrading than getin a flat screen and win 7 ultimate 32bit though wanted 64bit.
Well, no HD option so I really wasnt able to aprecciate graphics. But your driving it´s bad. Use your handbreak at tight corners. And this car it´s one of the slowest on game and you still had trouble with it. Try Citroen c4 or Peugeot 207.
8800gt or higher is definitely the way to go in my opinion, my 8600gt just sucks. Built a system very similar to this one for a friend of mine a couple weeks ago and he can play this game at a solid 60FPS on max on his 8800gt.
this game wasnt meant to be a simulator, it was meant to be a fun, great, rally game, if it was a real simulator most of people would never finish a race without crashing.. and it would be imposible to play it with keyboard, and they want to sell the most quantity of games possible..
i have a question to you, im looking forward to buy a new PC, and i was thinking to buy a core 2 duo, 2gb ram, nvidia 8600gt 256mb, your video cars is 256mb or 512?
My opinion is that the 8600gt is kind of crappy, mine's the 256mb version. It does create a bit of a bottleneck in this game, but most stuff is fine. I hear that the 7800GT is actually faster and cheaper, but can't do DirectX 10. I don't care about that, since I won't run vista. :)
Also, this game really can't be played with the keyboard.
I can highly recommend the core 2 duo line, it's an amazing processor for the price, especially the E6550, and e6750. Very fast for the price. :) Enjoy!
The game looks good! But the driving physics doesn't. You don't slide around corners, don't have to set the car up for turns, and generally don't have to think... turn the car where the road goes...
It's a lot more accurate and feels more like real rally than the other Colin McRae games I've played, but it's not on the level of games like XPand Rally.
oh my god this stage was awesome !!! i'm a great fan of dirt3 but the rally stages really seem to be way better in this game ! imma buy it ASAP !

Cool movie. I want this game, cept for the 80-90 dollar pricetag which I can't afford -.-
Also, is 8600GT much better than the ATi HD 2400 Pro? I wanna play it on low-med settings at least.

try to buy a pc that consists of:
Intel core 2 duo @ 3 Ghz
2 or 4 GB of RAM
512MB nvidia geforce 8600 GT (or)
512MB nvidia geforce 8800 GTS

512 mb 8600gt only has ddr2, while the 256 mb has ddr3, being much faster ;)

You can slide around corners, it's just *hard*. :) I don't have to set up for these turns either because I'm driving slowly. :\
antivert 4 years ago
Still, it doesn't look like you have to use real life rally moves, like left foot braking etc.
Oracurax 4 years ago

I'm playing it again for the first time in months now, and I think you'd be surprised at how good the car physics are if you try it. :)

Yeah, the video card or the RAM may be the bottleneck.. OC'd to 3.0ghz.. only got an extra 3fps :)
antivert 4 years ago
you could go much smoother with another gig of ram and OCing that C2D to 3ghz(that can be very very easily done even if you are newb)
