Definitely a second arrow in him - unfortunately cameraman thought he was rolling - but obviously wasn't. The shot actually hit in the hind quarter. I wasn't the shooter on this kill, but I don't agree that a 70 yard shot is risky. The important point is knowing what you can shoot before you pull the trigger. This hunter took a shot he was comfortable with, and harvested a great trophy!
It obviously wasn't dead when you walked up on it. You can see him lift his head at 8:00. Did you have to put another arrow in him or what?
And where was he hit? Taking a shot at 70 yards with a bow is awfully risky. Especially when hunting an animal that could be in the next county by the time the arrow gets there.
Congrats on a beautiful trophy. I'd sure like to hear the whole story though.
