put a hall effect sensor and solenoid on the end that touches. it will make it friction-less

few more steps and you will have a friction-less fly wheel.

how long does it vibrate without being touched? If that up and down movement never stops you may have an actual generator. Otherwise it is a bearing.

Thats just a low friction setup much like a magnet bearing, you spin it with your fingers and it spins till it stops, it just spins for a long time because of the low friction support nothing more!
