  • I just took my Mcat yesterday and I am so discouraged, I scored a 30 on my last diagnostic and probably got a 25 yesterday :( I never took a prep course and just studied on my own but my friend let me use his Princeton account so that's how I was taking diagnostics. I totally blanked out on the test and wasted 20 minutes on the first passage in PSCI and 15 on the first one in Bio, total lack of focus, I have such a hard time focusing sometimes. :(

  • It does. Students who attend highly ranked colleges (Harvard, for example) will be at an advantage. But, don't worry. If you have great grades, a high MCAT score, and the other factors (research, extracurriculars, passion for medicine, etc), you will do very well!

  • hi there! i need help in deciding what area of medicine i want to go in. i know i don't want to work with children or families- many reasons for this! have any advice? thank you!!

  • There is a specialty in medicine for anyone. You can do pathology, radiology, or anesthesia, if you prefer to work alone .Those are just 3 examples but there are plenty more. In reality, most people figure this out in their third year of medical school. Good luk!

  • so have you decided on residency

  • general surgery :=)

  • I ended up dropping the course. Needless to say, I should have dropped it sooner because it caused a ripple effect on my other classes. I hesitate at the thought of changing health care professions. I have some in mind but don't really want to null on that path.

  • It's been awhile. I hope things are going well for you!

  • I'm struggling in chem and feel like I am drowning. Basically, one test I get back soon will decide whether or no I can make it out of the class with a passing mark. What should I do?? I want to endure and get to med school because I think there's no in between when it comes to medicine.

  • How did the exam go? I recommend that you stay the course because these exams, although important, cannot singly determine whether you will go to medical school, and definitely do not determine whether you will be a good doctor.
