in years to come coheed will be fully recognized for the immensely important and creative force they are. they'll make a lasting impact on music unlike most bands that simply fade away. count on it.
FUCKING AMAZING SONG! If you really pay attention to the song, it totally works within the world of Batman. I think Coheed has mastered the art of translating comics to song after doing it for so long. :)
I have listened to coheed and cambria's songs countless times, and I never get sick of them. I saw them in concert and loved it. They are the best band ever! Im glad they caught a break and got a song in a video game! KEEP ROCKING COHEED. WE"LL ALL KEEP HEADBANGING TO IT!
@Stormshadow612 The chorus is a masterpiece. You just fail to achieve the proper levels of intelligence to comprehend that. Coheed does not want you as a fan, nor do they wish for you to watch their videos. So yourr work is done here.
Fuckin love that drum beat on the verse, tasty little hi hat action. Nice one Chris, gotta admit when I first heard that their was no more Josh in my fav band Co&Ca I wasn't happy but I've come to respect your drumming skills Chris... props.
Coheed is the most addicting band over. There is not a single song by Coheed that I don't like. I honestly love EVERY song, and would listen to each song over and over, as I get chills every time. The Willing Well songs top my favorites, The End Complete songs, IRO-Bot, Iron Fist, so many good songs. Even the early Shabutie and Claud's Prize Fighter side-project have all amazing songs. I swear to God, Claudio is a modern-day Hendrix. The man is just a musical genius.
The quality of this version is godawful! Fantastic song though, don't know how you can say people are wearing rose-tinted glasses, it's all opinion isn't it?
I almost wish this song was attached to the new Batman film, as opposed to the game. I can TOTALLY see an epic Chris Nolan trailer previewing the epic end of his incredible trilogy with this song blasting throughout. They captured the true dynamic of Batman and Catwoman PERFECTLY.
Once again, Coheed blows me away. They are and will always remain my favorite and most cherished artists of all time.
who ever said that this "isnt" coheeds type of music is a moron... first off all great bands experiment with different sounds, second claudio clearly stated that this song was made to give a different feel... one for the video game it was created for... a different feel from amory wars...
I'm a huge fan of Coheed, but I've got to say this is pretty middle of the pack. I think it fits what it's supposed to be which is a Batman soundtrack song, but overall pretty average.
@FizzOfInsanity I can agree with that, but personally I interpreted it as being from Catwoman's point of view towards Batman. Either way, I agree, it's perfect.
Lyrics -pt.3- We were our worst nightmares delight And I promised you, As you always knew This world’s no paradise (Chorus) There is no me without you I will behave, I will be An afterthought… your make believe Your darkest day is your friend in need (Chorus)
Yet again Coheed releases another masterpiece. There is not a single Coheed song that I dislike nor one that i dont want to listen to over and over again for the rest of my natural life and this is one more for the long long list. <33333 HANDS DOWN THE BEST MOST CREATIVE, TALENTED, hell JUST THE FUCKING GREATEST BAND OF OUR TIME!!!! I thank Coheed everyday for changing my life again and again still to this day.
@tehchili i agree with everything you said but the "of our time" part....come on you dont have to be modest for ol' Coheed. Theyre more than the best of our time, theyre the best band from any time, ever and no mere band of mortals will ever come close to measuring up to the effect that Coheed has on my emotions and my mind and the way every song relates to my life or a memory. Greatest Band Ever Assembled, and no, Kanye you can not interrupt me on this one cus imma finish NOW. Coheed = Gods =p
@GoodApolloIV23 No. I love Coheed. But they aren't on the level of say Led Zeppelin or Deep Purple. You have to give it up for the giants. Coheed is close, but they aren't the best. That's just silly.
@mercadb Deep Purple are one of the most influential and important bands in the history of rock music. Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Gillan, David Coverdale, Glen Hughes, Steve Morse, Tommy Bolin Ian Paice, Jon Lord....all at the top of their field. They've undergone more lineup changes than just about anyone in the 70s and 80s and managed to stay relevant. That's not easy. Anyway, I just brought them up off the cuff. Rush, Priest, Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, Pink Floyd are other examples.
Oh man. I love these vocals. Just listen to the vocals off their first CD and just HEAR the maturity of Claudio's voice, and how much better he is at putting emotion into his voice and his lyrics. Loved it. Loved it. I feel EXCITED by this.
I don't know what you're all talking about! This song is amazing. I loved it the first time I heard it. Bands mature and their styles change with them. I feel like I've grown up with Coheed and Cambria and each album is like the soundtrack to a different times in my life. My taste in music has changed a lot since I first heard SSTB and I love that coheed's style changes with my taste.
not to bad but its not the coheed and cambria that i am normally used to. this is definitely not a song of theirs that i would listen to over and over again like i do all of their other songs, more like every once in awhile. its kinda disappointing but i still love C&C.
In terms of a batman song, I understand the style. But as a coheed fan, I am disappointed. I feel there's a wall they've hit after GA 1 and they need to find and get back to that sound. (I've heard the same arguments over and over, yes Josh and Mic are gone-I realize and miss them too. It's just my 2 cents)
Not sure what to think of this song. I like how it's back to their slow style, not something that attacks fast or is too heavy. It's atmospheric, and it's got some great guitar. But there aren't a lot of good stand out vocal moments other than the chorus...
This is one of two songs from a game's OST that brings feelings of manly tears. The other being Deadman's Gun from Red Dead Redemption.

Lyrics -pt.1-
This city’s lost all hope, I repeat, I boast
The strange will walk alone
They scurry with their doubt
The darkness shrouds, the sirens shout
Against the concrete below
Oh, This works all you and me… Its all our being
We will burn this city down
littledeadybear 5 months ago
Lyrics -pt.2-
(Chorus)
Who will be your pretty little enemy?
When I’m gone your world will prove empty
I promise, you will always remember me
The jokes on you, poisoning
While you clean the streets of misfortune
I pick the innocent from my dirty teeth
We’re one and the same… Deranged
